Doctrine – Philosophy of Ministry:

Goal of Ministry:

The most important priority in all ministry is God's glory. Nothing ministers to man more that a ministry focused on the glory of God (Luke 9:32, 2 Corth.12:11a).

The Word of God:

I believe the scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired Word of God. God's Word is the only infallible rule of faith and practice. In it is all that is needed for a person to know how to love God and

their neighbor (II Tim. 3:16 -17; II Peter 1:3, 20-21). In fact, scripture alone is sufficient for all areas of ministry including preaching, teaching, and counseling. Because of this, I believe expository preaching/teaching and experiencing the Word in action to be the best ways to communicate these truths.

Depravity of Man:

I believe that man was made in the image and likeness of God but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inheriting a sinful nature and becoming enemies of God (Rom. 5:10). I believe that due to man's depravity he is helpless to

remedy his lost condition (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:10 -18; Rom. 5:12 ; Eph. 2:1-3,12).

Person and Work of Jesus Christ:

I believe the greatest news for all mankind is that Jesus Christ, the second person of the trinity, became a man and accomplished our redemption on the cross through His death. He did this to glorify His Father. Jesus physically

rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just as He rose from the dead, so will all who by faith embrace Him as Savior.

Salvation:

I believe that salvation from the wrath of God is offered to all mankind. Only through personal faith in the atoning death of Christ and His resurrection can a person receive salvation. I believe that salvation is a gift of God given to

those whom God chose before the foundation of the world (John 15:16 ; Rom.8:28 -30; Rom. 9:14 -18; Eph. 1:4).

Ordinances:

I believe in the baptism of believers through immersion in water; a portrait of our association with the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior. I believe in the Lord's Supper as a scriptural means of testimony for the church age (I

Cor. 11:23 -31).

End Times:

I believe the rapture of the church followed by a millennial reign for a literal one thousand years. The Great White Throne Judgment for unbelievers (2nd death) and the creation of a new heavens and new earth, where

righteousness dwells, will follow the Great White Throne Judgment.

Gifts:

I believe that the purpose for which the Spirit gives gifts is for the building up and unifying of the church (Eph. 4:12 -16). I believe that the gift of tongues and healing and the gifts of apostleship and prophecy, are for the church age given for the healing and restoration of the church and mankind. 1 Cor. 12:4-11; II Cor. 12:12 ).
