Data Warehouse Development and Maintenance: (OLAP)

For Orginazation’s KPI undertook development of new data warehouse using Ralph Kimball’s approach with dimensional modeling with multiple data-marts. Most data marts used star schema and some snowflake schema using both DSV and RDBMS views. For data promotion to staging and data warehouse wrote and scheduled several ETL processes using SSIS (with .NET C#) that extracts data from different Operational data sources (ODS) available in the form of RDBMS, Flat Files, Excel, XML, Accounting (Great Plains). Worked with SSAS in VS 2008 and VS 2005 for creating, processing and scheduled processing of cubes from data warehouse. Created customized, MDX queries for the cubes and optimized MDX queries with a good knowledge of MDX queries. Handled, targeted dimensions against time series, geo boundaries’, and hierarchies in order to achieve an ultimate dashboard/score card experience. In addition, many cube reports with drill down feature were created with charts and graphs using SSRS and made available on the web server using Web Viewer Control. Secured the cubes with roles and membership.
