EXECUTIVE / P&L MANAGEMENT
• Increased plant capacity by 20% from 90MM lb/yr to 108MM lb/yr through line speed increases
• Reduced raw material costs by over $600,000 per year through process changes
• Implemented programs to improve product quality resulting in a four fold drop in return rates
• Led a team of 4 executives in the development of a new corporate Safety initiative that resulted in a reduction in incidents of over 300% and a savings of over $1MM per year.
ENGINEERING / TECHNICAL
• Responsible for the design and construction of first shared energy savings project in the state of Maryland resulting in over $1,000,000 in savings annually.
• Responsible for the design and construction of three plant expansions that increased plant capacity by over 25% each.
• Devised an innovative solution to a transformer control problem by using a soft-start motor starter to replace controls that would have taken 12 weeks to build. The equipment was running in 4 days.
• Managed a production floor control system of over 200 personal computers and network servers
• Implemented a computerized Maintenance Management application to manage, spare parts inventory and requisition, all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, time clock functions and all cost management. Data was used to support improvement activities. Equipment down time was cut in half through reduced breakdowns and improved parts availability resulting in savings of $12MM per year.
• Restored critical chemical production operations after a major flood to site in Georgia after 1 week, clearing major electrical faults, replacing over 150 motors and pumps, and restoring operation of two high pressure steam boilers and other related equipment.
