White Earth Reservation-DOVE program - Sexual Assault Liaison

Ogema, MN June 6, 2007 - October 2007 (temporary position)

* Coordinated meetings with criminal justice and human services staff from a four county area and the White Earth Reservation to develop and write protocols for a coordinated community response to sexual assaults

* Arranged agenda, took notes and distributed; facilitated large and small group meetings

* Coordinated 3 professional trainings in 2 sites for law enforcement and other agencies

* Tracked progress on protocols and researched new laws

* Presented to other professionals and trained advocates (paid and unpaid) on protocols and providing assistance to victims of abuse

* Assisted in writing a federal grant for $400,000.00 that was received. Re-wrote entire budget and goals and objectives, worked with federal grants specialist in D.C.

Women's Network of the Red River Valley - Executive Director

Moorhead, MN January 2006-March 2007

* First full time director. Rebuilt office which included moving physical location, website, phones, etc.

* Designed all office forms to be consistent including: invoices, time sheets, mileage sheets etc.

* Paid all invoices, ordered office equipment and supplies, reviewed bylaws and policies, paid quarterly taxes. Learned and implemented laws regarding child support notification, unemployment, workman's comp, etc.

* Recruited and interviewed volunteers, staff and board members

* Recruited board members and general membership, gave presentations, set up and staffed booths

* Trained volunteers, board members and interns, served on community committees

* Researched and wrote grants, designed and wrote quarterly newsletter

* Oversaw all office operations, including performed direct services to battered women, working with criminal court systems, setting up a multi-disciplinary task force, wrote grants, organized fundraisers and public presentations, gave interviews

* Provided direct services to clients, as well as advocated for them in the criminal court system

Lakes Crisis and Resource Center -Sexual Assault/Criminal Court Program Coordinator

Detroit Lakes, MN February 1989-August 1998

* Volunteered for approximately a year then hired as paid staff

* Presented to professional audiences and general community; recruited, trained and supervised 35 volunteers, kept records of their trainings, evaluations, etc.

* Performed direct services with victims of abuse, networking and advocating for them in criminal justice and social services agencies as well as other agencies.

* Designed curriculum and facilitated various support groups, including teamed with the local mental health agency to co-facilitate a therapy group for men who abuse their partners.

* Worked with Department of Corrections to contact and interview victims of felony level crimes
