Manufacturing Manager

Assembly Center Manager

Managed the strategic planning, development, and operations management of the assembly center, which included production control, warehouse, kitting, inventory control, and shipping and receiving activities; led and transitioned this new full-scale assembly center through feasibility analysis, research, strategic planning, layout, and development to a full scale operation.

Directed the scheduling of all assembly center activities; process control, procedural development, quality assurance, staffing, safety, resource utilization, short and long-range planning, and all continuous improvement activities for the center; served as the prime interface for the facility communicating production output commitments and schedule/production issues.

Supervised, trained, and mentored 3 staff members; allocated all labor hours, anticipated hours required to maintain an efficient and streamlined operation, and scheduled the staff accordingly.



Managed the budget administration and funding activities for a yearly budget in excess of $1.5M including the acceptance, disbursement, and accounting of monies for labor, inventory, supplies, resources, maintenance, and equipment.

Provide assessments of the workplace, warehouse, and all equipment to review safety hazards and develop, create, and execute all comprehensive strategies to minimize accidents and injuries.

Key Achievements:

- Developed and implemented various business strategies that led to a plant efficiency of 90%, which resulted in saving of over $96K in a 48-week period, an average of 93% RFT (Right First Time) units being assembled, and maintenance of plant expenses 10% under the fixed budget.

SAMPCO of Texas/SAMPCO of Georgia, Cedar Hill, Texas/Savannah, Georgia 2002 – 2008

Plant Manager

Serve as the Senior Operating Manager with full P&L responsibility for this plant accountable for the assembly of sample boards for seasonal construction materials for worldwide customers; supervised, managed, and executed key processes and business initiatives for the plant including all quality, human resource initiatives, finances, materials management, inventory control, staff scheduling to support all activities, and all customer support functions.

Directly supervised, evaluate, and oversee the work efforts of over 200 employees including cohesive teams of the production managers, engineers, technicians, and operators overseeing yield of all production.

Supervised continuous improvement activities for the operation implementing corrective actions to ensure that all quality standards were met.

Key Achievement:

- Managed the implementation of continuous improvement activities that led to a reduction in warehouse space and a savings of $102K annually, reduction of backorders in the plant in a period of 90 days, and improvement of labor percentage from 41% to 18%.

Oversaw all aspects of market and business development initiatives and the outsourcing of garment cutting at various contractor facilities; negotiated all pricing for sewing, washing, and sewing of product.

Key Achievement:

- Successfully improved efficiency to over 90% and maintained a rejection rate of less than 2.3%.

- Reduced the overall costs for manufacturing by 23% utilizing outsourcing programs.
