Named by Chief as the department’s first Director of Recruiting. Designed and implemented national campaign which increased pool of applicants 10-fold (from average of 90 to 900+).
Selected by Chief to represent the department in the local implementation of the US Department of Education’s Safe Schools–Healthy Students Initiative funded by a $8 million grant. Collaborated with Flint Community Schools and partner agencies. Attended training in Washington D.C. Jointly developed and implemented programs to benefit at-risk youth in the community, such as the Michigan Youth Leadership Academy and a faith-based program in 4 high schools targeting 7th–8th graders.
Oversaw the department’s internship program. Coordinated, scheduled, and evaluated 10–12 interns from several state universities during their 2 1/2-month experiences.
Designated by the Chief to present resolutions to City Council, including the request for $6 million to fund new vehicles as well as funds to send students to the Michigan State Police Trooper Academy.
Developed partnership and acted as liaison with the Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center.
Investigated and contributed to the successful prosecution of multiple high-profile cases.
Served in Desert Storm, earned two meritorious promotions, and was honorably discharged.

Investigated all types of violent, nonviolent, and property crimes, specializing in fraud cases involving bad checks, embezzlement, money laundering, counterfeiting, scams, and computer crimes.
Communicated with prosecuting attorneys during investigations and trials. Testify in court.
Collaborated with local, state, and federal agencies including Genesee County Sheriff Department, other jurisdictions within the county, Michigan State Police, FBI, DEA, ATF, and Postal Inspection Service to investigate incidents.
Acted as Field Training officer. Worked as patrol officer responding to reports of crimes and traffic accidents, collecting evidence, writing reports, and providing community policing.
