Qualifications:
I have several years of experience in Industrial Abrasive blasting and Coatings application field. I ‘am a Nace coatings inspector level 2 certified and a N.C.C.E.R. certified Industrial abrasive blasting and coatings applicator. My current job duties require me to: Measure ambient conditions, surface temperature - inspect the work area location - inspect the type of blasting equipment, tools and blasting media to be used - inspect metal substrates for cleanliness before surface preparation - test for indication of oil or water in the compressed air (blotter test) -measure compressed air pressure - inspect the degree of cleanliness and anchor profile as per specification - assess surface cleanliness of soluble salts contamination on blasted surface -inspect coatings storage conditions - inspect specified coating to be used - monitor the mixing of the coating, induction time, and pot life - inspect coating application equipment and tools - observe application methods and patterns - take dry film thickness as per specification - fill out inspection reports daily. I have excellent communication skills and capable of making good decisions. I have basic computer skills such as word processing, excel, email, and data input. May 2011 to Present Bay LTD. Coatings Inspector for Industrial Abrasive Blasting and Coatings Application.
Main focus of work was Coatings Inspector for Industrial Abrasive blasting and Coatings application at the Bay fabrication yard in Corpus Christi TX. My job to inspect the crew take ambient readings, DFT readings, anchor profile readings, and troubleshoot. Other job duties were to write down and document spool numbers, grit consumption, paint consumption, employee time, job completion, and supervisor reports daily. I also read and identified spools on ISO drawings for completion of packages and read paints specs for every piece of spool that was received at the project. I also held daily safety meetings and completed JSA’S and also submitted and drew work permits daily.
February 2010 to May 2011 Industrial Site Services (I.S.S.) Supervisor. Abrasive Blasting and Coatings Application.
Main Focus of work was abrasive blasting and coatings application foreman for ISS. My job duties were abrasive blasting with six bag sand pots and coatings application with conventional MBC spray gun for above ground piping. I also did abrasive blasting and recoats with plural component unit airless spray on under ground piping. I’ve done work for Energy Transfer, Enterprise, Koch Pipeline, DCP Midstream and many other clients. I have experience with a variety of coatings such as Carboline, Sherwin Williams, Protal and 323 Skotchkote. Other job duties were to do daily time for myself and hands, grit consumption, weekly fuel logs, and to order paint supplies as needed. I was responsible for my own company truck with fuel card and blast/coating rig and also did service on them as needed.
November 2007 to November 2009 Bay LTD. Supervisor. Industrial Abrasive Blasting and Coatings Application.
Main focus of work was Supervision for Industrial Abrasive blasting and Coatings application for the 4th Reactor expansion project at the Ineos Chemical Plant in Green Lake, TX. My job duties were to supervise the crew take ambient readings, DFT readings, anchor profile readings, and troubleshoot. Other job duties were to write down and document spool numbers, grit consumption, paint consumption, employee time, job completion, and supervisor reports daily. I also read and identified spools on ISO drawings for completion of packages and read paints specs for every piece of spool that was received at the project. Main focus of work was industrial Abrasive blasting and Coatings application at the DuPont chemical plant in Ingleside, TX. Job duties were abrasive blasting and coatings application in an industrial setting such as piping, tanks, columns, and pipe racks. Other job duties were to complete JSA’S and observation cards daily. During my employment with Zachry I received the Heart of Zachry Distinguished Safety Award in recognition of my contribution to safety excellence. I also did abrasive blasting in confined spaces such as vessels and sphere’s. I was also in the paint program and completed several jobs within the hours and budget.
