Professional Experience

MANAGEMENT

GIS Specialist from August 2007 to August 2011 as a contractor for the EPA providing comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of current GIS products.

While developing a relational database from data acquired by the EPA in the hypoxic zone of the Gulf of Mexico lying south of Louisiana, a MS Access Database User-Interface was built allowing the public to quickly and easily search for applicable data that end users need for their research.

Various GIS products from data acquired by the EPA in the hypoxic zone of Gulf of Mexico lying south of Louisiana were imported into ArcGIS software allowing researchers the ability to gain easy access to data, visual aids, and metadata.

Provide support for the development of a Florida estuarine nutrient loading model in support of numeric nutrient criteria development. Some examples of this support include delineating watershed units in Florida, stream networking, identifying water gaging stations, development of a Landscape Development Index (LDI) for various portions of the watersheds,identify and import water quality data for stream networks, sea grass vs. bathymetry research, etc. These were implemented in the GIS environment as well as in database structure. This allowed researchers to effectively use these products for inclusion into their research.

Forestry Consultant for 5 years - planning, monitoring, and administering timberland management policies. Expanded the business by opening a satellite office in Alabama. Opened and managed the office in Alabama for three years with our customer base increasing by 25%. Before leaving, the company enjoyed consistent growth and enjoyed an excellent reputation among the forestry community.

Co-Owner/President of a successful insurance repair contracting company for 17 years with over 5,000 completed projects to the satisfaction of both insurance companies and property owners. The first 10 years the company increased its customer base 50% yearly and the business volume grew 40% yearly.
