I have over eight (*) years experience in the Medical field. My medical experience includes four (4) years of service in the United States Air Force (USAF) as a Medical Technician / EMT. Other experience includes assisting physician during Mohs (skin cancer) surgery. My duties included: Setting up surgical trays, explaining the procedure to patients, obtaining vital signs, administering anesthesia, suturing patients (deep and top sutures) as needed, pressure bandage application, and giving wound care instructions to patients. Additionally, while working in the Dermatology field, I have assisted the doctor during biopsies, excisions, skin tag removals, chemical peels and medication injections.
As Shift Leader, I managed up to 10 staff members while providing and evaluating patient care. As Trainer, I provided quarterly medical training (AED) to the U.S. Reserves, various agencies and military personnel by giving in-services on gurney use in ambulances, hospital policies, patient care goals and emergency response.
Created and maintained Procedure Manual to include various medical forms and tables to train new employees. I have provided patient care for over 50 patients daily including elderly patients with chronic and terminal illnesses. I also provided medical treatment to all branches of the military arriving from all parts of the world and transported them to and from the military airstrip. Additionally, I provided patient care for over 5,000 troops at the on-base ER; including all branches of the military, the British Air Force and members of the French Military.
