Project: P 7 CSC Workflow Support
Role: Senior Java Developer
Description:
This project will create a process-centric workflow solution.
The scope of this project is to automate the workflow activities for investigating transactions that are pended / queued for the following reasons:
Over Limit
Security
Duplicate Transaction
Tanked Transaction
Additional Handling
OFAC / Government Sanctions
PFC Interdiction / WU Refused Business
Cuba Immigration and Household Remittance
LPMT / High Risk Interview
Proactive Calling Campaign
The workflow system interacts with various interfaces/systems like IBPM Workflow engine, RSI2, DB2, Unisys, AS400, Tandem and Listener components as part of P7 Architecture.
The system mainly deals with compliance transactions (P7.2) each associated with unique MTCN number stored in Unisys.
The Fujitsu IBPM workflow engine will route and distribute work requests equally among CSR users in a first-come, first-served or arbitrary assignment basis.
The CSR analyses the request and decides to Escalate to Supervisor/Manager or perform actions like Release/Remove/Pend/Refund based on that Work Request’s transaction details.
Also CSR has ability to create Work requests (P7.1) based on details given by Customer like MTCN number, Transaction date etc; either through phone/mail/direct contact.
Workflow application also has ability to send/receive correspondence letters to/from the Customer i.e. Outbound/Inbound Correspondence respectively.
This application was designed using technologies like Struts 1.2 for MVC, Spring 2.0 for Wiring dependencies, Hibernate3 as ORM tool with DB2 as backend database.
Roles & Responsibilities
Involved in developing various use cases as part of P7.2.
Implemented major/minor enhancements as part of P7 Workflow Support.
Fixed several showstoppers and high/medium priority issues and worked for its closure meeting the QA Release timelines efficiently.
Analyzed and resolved various Production/UAT defects effectively.
Apart from development, as part of Release Management, involved in building the packages (JARS, WARS, and EARS) and deployed the same in Application server and involved in testing.
Responsible for attending the regular teleconference with Clients, conducting period meetings to discuss the ongoing project related activities within the teams.
Environment: Windows XP , Java Servlets 2.4, JSP 2.0, Struts 1.2.4, Spring 2.0 and Hibernate 3.1, HTML, XML, XSD, JavaScript, CSS , Struts, Tiles, Dozer, JAXB, IBM DB2 9.1, JBoss Eclipse 2.0.2 Beta , JBoss Application Server 4.0.5, DMS server, WinCvs 1.3, LDAP,Active MQ, JMS, ESB components on Linux environments.

Client: Western Union Jul’ 06 – Oct ‘07
Project: Western Union P4 Refresh
Role: Java Developer
Description:
Business Rules for AML Compliance change frequently and the existing AML Compliance Infrastructure (ID server and CVBR) requires changes to code if rules’ logic requires any change.
The current implementation requires extensive coding, testing and deployment effort. Installing new code into production also involves complex procedure which involves restarting the existing AML Compliance engine.
The best solution to these problems is using Rules Engine which allows changing business rules at run time without changing core program logic and can be implemented without restarting the engine.
Rules Engines simplify applications by separating business policy or rules logic from process, infrastructure and presentation logic. This separation enables business analysts, rules developers and auditors to develop deploy, modify and manage a business process’s rules with much greater ease and speed.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a developer, I implemented various enhancements, change requests and testing of UI screens during the development of various components of Rules Engine.
Environment: Windows XP , Java Servlets 2.4, JSP 2.0, Struts 1.2.4, HTML, JavaScript, Struts, Tiles, Validation, Eclipse, Tomcat5.5, WinCVS 1.3, Drools-Jboss Rule engine.
