OBJECTIVE

· To seek full time position in the field of Embedded / Wireless Systems

EDUCATION

· The University of Texas at Arlington -M.S. in Electrical Engineering [August, 2008] GPA: 3.25/4.0

· The University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India -B.E. in Electrical Engineering [June, 2005] GPA: 3.80/4.0

Skills

· Programming: C, C++, VHDL

· Simulation Tools: MATLAB, Cadence, LabVIEW

· Wireless Technologies: GSM, CDMA, OFDM, GPRS and W-CDMA

Relevant Courses

· Embedded Microcontroller System Design, Advanced Embedded Microcontroller System Design, Wireless Communication Systems, Digital Communications Systems, Microwave Systems Engineering, CMOS RFIC Design, CMOS Mixed Signal IC Design, Advance Electronics, Digital VLSI Design, VHDL Programming

Projects

· Cooperative Real-time Operating System - C code was written for the 18F4520 controller to implement a cooperative RTOS with support for semaphores, system timers, and priority scheduling.

· Wireless Mesh Network with Ethernet Bridge Controller - Built hardware and developed software for a wireless mesh network and controller. The software developed included a real-time operating system, device driver, protocol stacks, and application layer software for a controller and device nodes in ISM-band wireless mesh network. The wireless network controller was bridge to an 802.3/Ethernet 10BASE-T network with a HTTP interface.

· RS-232 based Bidirectional communications system - Designed a controller and device for a timing intensive asynchronous communications interface based on the DMX512-A protocol with PIC-18F4520 microcontroller using MPLAB.

· AM/FM Demodulation using LabVIEW in RF Radio Receiver - In this project U2510B receiver IC was used to receive FM/AM signal and down convert it to IF level, then this IF output was fed to Digitizer and demodulated thru LabVIEW and played through a set of USB speakers. Before performing all the operations the system was tuned to a particular channel.

· Mobile Wireless User Terminal - Performed system level designing and simulation for a mobile wireless user terminal using block phase estimation algorithm in MATLAB. The demodulator was designed using QPSK modulation, and 3- path diversity using MRC. Used convolution code, puncturing and blockleaver interleaving with Viterbi algorithm.

· Design of Digital Communications Systems - Designed a physical layer simulation reference system for a digital communication system, a fixed WLAN using BPSK modulation and simulated in MATLAB. The channel equalizer was designed using MLSE (Viterbi algorithm) with assumption that channel is perfectly estimated at the receiver.

· Gilbert Mixer -Designed a down conversion Gilbert Mixer for GSM 1900 receiver using TSMC process with a CMOS 0.25µm technology in CADENCE and simulated it using Spectre RF tool.

· Microwave Controller - Designed a Microwave Controller using VHDL. Tools used were: Simulation tool ModelSim, Synthesis tool Precision, Place/route tool Project Navigator. Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA (XC3S200-4 FT256) Starter Board was used to verify the code.

WORK EXPERIENCE

· Computer Lab Assistant, Office of Information and Technology, UTA, March 2007-August 2008 - Managing Computer labs, assisting students, troubleshooting and rebuilding of computers in the lab.

· Intern Ten Miles Corporation, Chennai India, June-July 2003 - Real Time Software Development, worked on Admission Procedure Management Module of Management Information System for schools as a Team member.
