PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Participated on a team to assess the value of introducing high throughput technology to an operating analytical research lab. This technology would allow more experiments to run in a laboratory at the same time utilizing existing equipment. This required the completion of a study supported by data gathering from other companies to determine successes from those who were currently using this new technology. Data was then compiled and presented to management, accompanied by economic justification for the introduction of this new work process. Once approved, it required the set up and implementation of the process, which was completed on time and within the budget allocated. The lab now operates under this new process and remains a premier example within the company of how it can produce economic efficiencies for a company.
Participated on a safety team given the challenge of inspecting other laboratories within the company to determine which may not be using appropriate safety protocols. This would require a thorough knowledge of Material Safety & Data Sheets as well as a complete understanding of EH & S codes and normal operating safety standards. In the end, results of the audits were compiled and positive feedback was provided to lab managers to support the implementation of new work processes. The results were fewer accidents and cost avoidance due to penalties being imposed as a result of non-compliance.

Served on a team to manage change in the operations of a standard laboratory. This required the documentation of standard work processes as well as the review and recording of new processes when being introduced. Only when approved by the team could the new practices be put into place. The results were overall efficiencies for the company as well as better-managed safety practices.
EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE:
Research Associate, The Dow Chemical Company, Houston, Texas.
