PROJECT EXPERIENCE
I had done my M.Sc. final year dissertation project entitled “Analysis of Ionospheric variability Associated with A Seismic Event Using Demeter Satellite Data” carried out at National Geophysical Research Institute, Uppal road, Hyderabad
Description: The present project work is related to study the precursory phenomena for large earthquakes. I have chosen to study the data acquired by DEMETER satellite. Using IAP (plasma analyzer) and ISL (Langmuir probe) experiments onboard DEMETER (Detection of Electromagnetic Emissions Transmitted from Earthquake Regions) satellite, I have statistically analyzed the variations of the electron and ion densities to search for disturbances in the vicinity of large earthquake of M 8.1 in Samoa Island, South America. The indices Ap and Kp were used to distinguish pre-earthquake anomalies from the other anomalies related to the geomagnetic activities. In this study, a very good agreement was found between the different parameters estimated by DEMETER data in the detection of pre-seismic anomalies
