Responsibilities included the day to day operation and management of the Clinical Research/Infectious Disease Laboratory (CLIA and CAP accredited laboratory). Ordering of equipment, reagents, lab supplies, CAP proficiency testing, quality management and assurance, writing and updating procedure manuals, ordering of updated CLSI guidelines on a yearly basis, billing of clinical testing, calibration of laboratory equipment on a semi-annual and annual basis.
Successful passing of the CAP inspections with no deficiencies noted.
Specialized microbiology testing includes: fungal and bacterial susceptibilities, repetitive sequence-based PCR testing using the Diversilab system used for epidemiology purposes, assisting in various research projects as necessary, including research study with The Montgomery County Combined Health District. Worked closely with Dayton’s ID physicians and Infection Control Department.
