Primary responsibilities include maintaining adequate supplies, reviewing QC and submitting QC data on a monthly basis for peer group evaluation, training and maintaining competencies of technologists and lab assistants, calibration of instrumentation, implementation of new instruments and correlating tests to present methods. Writing procedures and training technologists on new instrumentation. As part of a 6 clinic health care system, wrote procedures in preparation for a system wide CAP inspection from individual inspections. Prepares specimens for biannual comparability studies to be performed at each site, performs crossover studies for new lots of coagulation reagent. Responsible for assigning proficiency testing specimens to technologists, submitting results to CAP, and evaluating and reporting any failures to the pathologist, QI officer and the regional commissioner.

Analysis of estradiol, and progesterone levels in serum using the EIA method, and testosterone, estriole, and 17-OHP using the RIA method.
