 Finished SAS-70 certification for Humana Puerto Rico.

 Re-engineer benefit covered by specialist program; initial phase covered five (5) specialist group, program saved $3K on 1st date processing claims. Annual estimated savings $800K

 Manage the implementation of new benefit exclusion program; after nine months of operations saved $3.46M in overpayment for benefits not covered by medical plans.

Information Technology Senior Director

Regional IT leader oversees IT operational teams and regulatory compliance for Puerto Rico and Latin America in delivering all information technology services. Accountable for operating budget ($6.2M), capital investment ($3M), customer relation management, service level agreements, performance monitoring, customer satisfaction surveys, direct supervision three management leads overseen seventy-nine (79) IT staffs.  Technology Advisor member of Steering committee for NDA’s eSubmission to FDA. Supported information technology architecture development for the Clinical Research Organization (CRO) on the creation of the new CRU in New Haven, CT. Investment $150M.

 Responsibility expanded in 2004 to include Infrastructure for Latin America (LA).

Accomplishments

 Merge six infrastructure teams into a common World Class Information Technology standard aligned with ITIL operational methodologies in Puerto Rico and Latin America.

 Managed conferencing team in North America to restructure conferencing services; steering committee member and leader for Puerto Rico operations. Program replaced existing services using British Telecomm services and MS Live Meeting saving $1.7M in 2007.

 Lead Puerto Rico Pharmaceutical IT transformation; saving $870K in 2006 on operational costs.

 Harmonized regional SOPs for twelve geographic locations to one common process, aligned regulatory compliance requirements for SOX compliance. Later launched similar program for our European EMEA operations; served as steering committee leader.

 Manage regional budgeting, design and implementation of Cisco Call management solutions.

 Lead regional data center consolidation project in 2006; saving in excess of $1M annually, reduced data centers from 5 facilities to one centralized operation; platforms supported: Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Sun Solaris, HP-UX and AS/400.

 Manage Pfizer Inc’s 2006 Share holder meeting infrastructure’s preparation; implemented redundant Cisco Cache Engines to Webcast the event to the financial market. Program capital investment $1M over 90 days.

 Directed Puerto Rico’s AS/400 consolidation effort; savings resulted in $385K in 2006. This project included the relocation of our ERP application to North America’s consolidated data center environment.

 Site leader for the Life Cycle Asset Management (LAMP) project for Puerto Rico and Latin America savings $1.17M in 2006. Project allowed the organization to improve asset management.

 Manage organization right-sizing regional effort; the infrastructure technology was modernized, resulting in cost savings exceeding $2.6M in 2005.

 Created/implemented Web business solutions with E-Commerce, Sales Management, Delivery and Inventory Management. Developed with Visual Studio 2005, SQL, FrontPage 2003 and Oracle, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, and ODBC-reporting based on key stakeholder needs.
