Computer Specialist Directorate of Information Management, NJ 1998 – Present

• Moved a unit of 25 personnel with 13 PC’s, 6 printers, and digital sender. Ensured network drops were installed and activated. Set up all equipment. Ensured the transition to a new facility with minimal disruption of mission and no loss of data.

• Lead technician for installation of Common Access Cards (CAC). Handled over 31 Help Desk calls on CAC issued. Assisted other team members with installation and troubleshooting issues not only in local work area but throughout the installation. Modified initial instructions to reduce installation time from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.

• Removed over 50 cases of illegal software and viruses avoiding a network issue ensuring no server downtime and little impact on the user.

• Informed installation users through e-mail of the latest computer viruses and had users delete potential programs. This prevented viruses from spreading and saving users’ time, propagation of the virus, and prevented networking and e-mail problems.

• Upgraded over 1,000 computers to include staging, imaging, and upgrading, configuring and transferring user data successfully within four hour sessions 98 % of the time.

• Ensured security patches and vulnerabilities were installed for assigned area and throughout installation well within allotted suspense time maintaining continued security.

• Worked with other teams to insure computers were imagined and set up in minimal time frames and met requirements before allotted suspense times.

• Ran a project to clean 83 PC’s in 10 hours saving the government 50 man-hours.
