• Designed and implemented an Invoice Email Module as a replacement to CD/Diskette delivery methods, reducing monthly recurring expenses by 15K with additional savings from uncontrolled reprint activity.

• Dev Created and setup API programs to interface between the Web and the AS400 customer database utilizing JAVA, SQL, STORED PROCEDURES, RPGIV and COBOL.

• This Web site helped eliminate call center cost, due to the customer having the ability to maintain and support their own account.

Customer self-service

• Extended the services of the legacy order entry, customer service and billing applications to the web via the re-architecture of core business logic into API’s that provided modular capabilities of back-office processes that promoted reutilization across solutions.

• Final solution provided an extensive list of transactions that can be initiated by the customer thus eliminating costly call center calls. Calls were estimated at $4.50/call.

ILE Environment

• Implementation required extensive research for necessary changes. Additional QA environment had to be developed as well. During this mission critical project I led 25 employees during the development of the process. Total project development took a little less than two months to modify and test all objects.

Conversion Efforts

• During the migration of conversion data you’d have to be familiar multiple programming languages, COBOL, SQL, VISUAL BASIC, RPGIV.

• Created a generic/standard approach to the integration of customer service and billing system data.

• Designed and implemented a conversion module that utilized a pre-defined forms approach to the required data necessary to convert from another application into the current customer service and billing system.

• In taking this approach it reduced the previous customized conversion time frame from 12 months down to 4 months, which includes mapping and mock executions.

Year 2000 Readiness

• Created a Year 2000 Stand alone test environment and completing an end-to-end applications test was required. A total of 400 libraries and 3000+ production objects were researched and modified where necessary.

• As manager of the Y2K programming team of 6, I coordinated the research and modifications to applications along with the necessary testing schedule that involved 80+ resources. Modifications and testing were successfully completed on schedule. In addition to the programming requirements, I served as a member of the Vendor Assessment Committee, which was tasked, with reviewing the MobileComm vendor base for Y2K readiness.
