CDM (Customer Data Management) is the central repository of customer data within the UK. CDU has the strategic objective that the database will hold all HSBC UK customer information and associated products and that access to these data will be made using CDU utility code. CDU is driven by the vision to create and maintain a single customer view – One Bank one Customer.
The Customer Data Management - CDM - provides Operational Data store and Enterprise Services solutions for Involved Party Management worldwide. Involved Party data includes individual and organizations with which HSBC has a relationship, but is not limited to customers. It can include, for example, guarantors, signatories and beneficiaries. ESR (Enterprise Structures and Reference) is a subsystem of CDM which delivers Enterprise reference data worldwide.
CDM is a high volume relational DB2 database, accessed via a shell of CDU modules with supporting infrastructure. Additional tools like Customer matching and de-duplication, purge and auditing tools also provided by CDU.
