I have been very fortunate in that I have had a variety of work experiences including working as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Defense, Business Coordinator for a Psychiatric Outpatient Facility, owner/operator of my own business, and many years in the Health Care Industry. Through these opportunities I have learned how to problem solve, organize, and streamline office practices. I understand the concept of confidentiality and working together with others to achieve a common goal. I have trained, mentored and managed other employees with confidence, compassion and strength.
WORK HISTORY HIGHLIGHTS
Administrative Assistant - Department of Defense, 8/2010-6/2011
I worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Commander of the Supply Department at the Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where I was granted Secret Clearance status until March 3, 2021. As the pivot point of Supply, I contributed to the Command mission success by providing administrative support through the management and preparation of correspondence, per Navy Regulations, data/records keeping, and by providing support to over 16 tenant commands. I also served as the sole Government Purchase Cardholder. In addition I managed, reviewed, submitted and followed up on all trouble call records for 11 departments that spanned facilities throughout the base. I managed the Base Population Report, Vehicle Mileage Report and Housing Report. I was employed there for 10 months and am considered a “displaced employee” due to my husband’s transfer back to the United States.
Business Office Coordinator - Psycamore Psychiatric Clinic, 12/2008-01/2009
I was employed for 1 year at a Psychiatric Outpatient Facility as the Business Coordinator. I performed telephone assessments with potential patients and made the appropriate recommendations for obtaining treatment. I issued personality and other self evaluations as required. I provided informal counseling with several of our patients. I verified insurance coverage and followed up with the companies for extension of stay benefits.
