EXPERIENCE

1. Integration Analyst - contracted. Catholic Health Initiatives. Denver, CO. September 2010 to present.

Responsible for the creation of interfaces from a sending system to a receiving system via an eGate engine. Analyze the requirements of each system. Create tri-maps indicating all aspects of the successful interface. Implement these interfaces, test these interface and bring to production.

2. HL7 Interface Analyst. McKesson Paragon Provider Technologies. Charlotte, NC. December 2009

to September 2010.

Responsible for implementation of HL7 interfaces to/from the Paragon Hospital Information System. Implementions includes LISs, RISs, Pharmacy systems, EMRs, HPF, Ambulatory Care Systems, CISs, and others.

3. HL7 Interface Analyst. Mediware Information Systems. Oakbrook, Illinois. March 2007 through September 2009.

Responsible for analysis, configuration and implementation of interfaces between this company’s blood

bank application software and numerous HIS and LIS systems. Activities are similar to those performed at SCC SoftComputer below. Additional skills include work with MS SQL.

4. HL7 Interface Product Specialist/Analyst. SCC SoftComputer. Clearwater, Florida. December 2001 to March 2007.

Responsibilities include interface specification analysis and the development, documentation, and implementation of HL7 interfaces. Consult with new and existing clients and foreign vendors to gather data, analyze and determine interface requirements. Design and develop interface solutions to meet requirements. Write interface specifications. Foreign systems include hospital information systems, practice management systems, reference laboratories, pathology systems, blood bank systems, pharmacy systems, EMR systems, data repositories and billing systems. Interface transactions include ADT, bi-directional Order Entry, Result Reporting and Billing transactions. Coordinate and manage software delivery, installation and updates. Configure SCC’s proprietary interface engine. Establish communication between systems through connectivity methods such as TCP/IP and FTP. Train and inform customer regarding the setup required for proper interface operation. Develop Vendor-to-Vendor system test plans. Coordinate system testing between company’s system and foreign system. Provide support and troubleshoot during validation phase of implementation. Support client post-Live.

5. Laboratory Manager. Bend Memorial Clinic, Bend, OR. February 1999 to April 2001.

Managed all aspects of this full service laboratory, including Laboratory Information System, in this large (75 plus physicians) physician office laboratory and its two satellite laboratories. Purchased all new major laboratory instrumentation - reducing operating expenses and increasing the efficiency of laboratory.

6. Regional Manager of Patient Service Department. Laboratory Corporation of America, Reno, NV. March 1996 to February 1999.

Managed the operation and the employees of 25 Patient Service Centers - including Stat Labs. Developed policies and procedures. Ensured Medicare compliance. Coordinated the opening of new Patient Services Centers. Prepared Financial Analyses.

7. Laboratory Manager. Northern Nevada Medical Center, Reno, NV.

Lead the laboratory through the difficult transition from a manual system to a fully computerized

system. Managed medical technologists, phlebotomists, lab clerical and receptionist employees.

Completed and met annual budgets. Lead the laboratory through its first and subsequent two CAP accreditation inspections. Implemented all quality assurance and quality improvement activities. Established policies and procedures to meet the, then new, CLIA ’88 regulations. Developed Chemical Hygiene and Blood-borne Pathogen Plans. Greatly reduced expenses by initiating the merger of our hospital laboratory and a large statewide laboratory.

8. Technical Supervisor of Chemistry Dept. Northern Nevada Medical Center, Reno, NV.

Established and wrote all technical procedures for this new chemistry department.

9. Assistant Laboratory Manager and Microbiology Supervisor. Carson-Tahoe Hospital, Carson City, NV.
