• Responsible for APC implementation in Paper Industry & team member for IOCL Panipat refinery :

Analysis of process data of a unit followed by APC benefit estimation.

Pretest and tuning of all the basic level PID controllers.

Preparing Functional Design Specification.

Step test to capture process model/dynamics.

Model development, DCS engineering and post audit.

APC Projects Completed:

1. Lime kiln: Implemented SMOC to minimize the fuel oil consumption as a team member.

2. SRB#3 & 4: Implemented SMOC to increase the boiler efficiency as a team member.

3. Power and Steam distribution: To maintain the header pressure and increase overall efficiency as team member.

4. Pulp Mill#2: Independently implemented the SMOC controller for consistency and production and SMOC – RQE for chemical optimization by predicting the brightness & pH for the sequence Oxytrac + ZeDP in a 400 MT/Day plant.

5. Pulp Mill#1: Independent carried out the chemical optimization by SMOC - RQE for the sequence PO-Z-D1-Ep-D2 by predicting the stages’ brightness and pH.

2. Fine Paper Machine # 6 optimization.

Past Organization –Ballarpur Ind. Ltd. (The largest paper manufacturing group in India with a turnover of $550 million) is the undisputed leader in the Indian paper industry with strong presence in fine paper, Industrial paper and coated paper and boards.

• Handled budgeting, planning and operation of Blade Coating Plant, a profit center having turn over $12.5 million, consists PLC based colour kitchen, offline Blade coater (600 mpm) with QCS control, Super calender, Rewinder, Lamination m/c, 2 no’s Synchro sheeters and Wrapmatic m/c.

Prepared budget, carried constraints analysis & prepared strategy tree to achieve organization goals.

Ensured productivity and monitored budgeted usages (base paper, chemicals, energy and water etc).

Visited customers & carried out market research on product’s positioning.

Conceptualized, initiated and conducted trials for process and product improvement.

Implemented Dr. W. Edwards Deming’s philosophy of TQM for continual process and quality improvement.

• Devised and implemented energy conservation program, as a core team member.

• Supervised a group of 10 workmen, building a strong work ethics and providing cross training that significantly improved workflow and reduced OT (hrs) by 10%
