Responsible for a 1.2 million ton per year Fractionated sand operation. Supervised 45 non-union employee’s at this 24/7 operation. Responsible for safety ,profit & loss budgets,production and maintenance.. Implemented policies and programs necessary to bring the plant into MSHA compliance.

• Supervised 34 million dollar plant construction and expansion from 500 K TPY to 1,200,000 TPY within budget and on time.

• Reconfigured plant work force (no additional employee’s added) for increased production cost savings 40%

• Supervised and implemented computerized plant automation complete with instlallation of rail load out.

• Supervised the conversion of plant from propane to natural gas at a cost savings of 59%

• Supervised and installed 1500” overland conveyor system from sand mining site to plant wash plant

PLANT MANAGER

National Lime & Stone Columbus Region Delaware Plant – Columbus, OH 1999-2008

Responsible for the operation of a 5.5 million ton per year limestone surface quarry. Supervise 4 foreman, 2 lab techs, 4 office clerks and 73 union employees. Responsible for safety, profit & loss, budgets, production and maintenance. Plan, implement and track short term plant development and improvements. Worked to develop and train foreman for promotions to the next level (Two foreman promoted to Plant Superintendents at other locations within the company).

• Supervised 28 million dollar expansion of the plant to the existing Fractionation Plant within budget and on schedule.

• Implemented the LiWell fines removal operation, (converting waste material into salable product) at a cost of $ 1.3 million with a yearly payback of $ 2.5 million.

• Expanded Plant reserves by 113 acres by re-locating a township de-watering ditch. Worked with the state, township, city, and army corps of engineers to complete this project.

• Increased plant utilization by 6%

• Reduced cost per ton by 25%

• Decreased lost time accidents, and reportable injuries to one over the last two years

• Supervised installation of 2000’ of 54” primary to secondary feed conveyor system

• Supervised and upgraded 4000’secondary feed conveyor system from 700 TPH to 1200 TPH

PLANT MANAGER

Minerals Research & Recovery - Ajo, 1996-1999

Responsible for the total operation of a slag/copper mine producing 500k tpy of finished material used for roofing granules, sand blasting abrasives, asphalt fillers and high-end sandpaper. Primary through tertiary crushing and washplants utilized to take high abrasive 4" material down to 1/8" and smaller, based on customer requirements. Responsible for plant safety, maintenance, production P & L's and budgets.

• Increased Production by 33%

• Increased Productivity from 81% to 97%

• Increased Rail Car pool from 61 to 128 cars

PLANT MANAGER

M & M Stone Company - Landing, NJ 1994-1996

Responsible 15 direct reports. Developed this Greenfield site into 500k TPY granite quarry. Responsible for production, budgets, mine planning, safety, maintenance and overall P&L of operation. Handled all HR issues at plant.

• Took plant from a Greenfield site to completely operational in less than one year

• Plant turned a profit in its second year of operation

• Set up preventative maintenance program and procedures

• Directed capital projects involving the selection and installation of equipment including conveyors, crushers and scales.

PLANT PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

The Corson Lime Company - Plymouth Meeting, PA 1986-1994

Responsible for direct reports including 10 foreman,and 121 union employees and 4 office clerks. Started as a Lab Tech, worked up to Crushing Forman then Plant Superintendent. Operations include lime kilns, hydrators, and bagging. Operation crushed over 1.8 million tons of aggregate stone a year, including 60,000 tons lime.

• Remodeled Stone Plant; cut stone costs $1.50 ton
