Assistant Design Manager – Pantaloons, Future Group, India July 2006 - Dec 2010
Pantaloons (http://pantaloon.futurebazaar.com) is India’s largest retailer with over 1,000 stores across 71 cities and over $1.3 billion annual sales.
Ajile: A leading women’s brand of casual wear apparel and accessories including track pants, capris, shorts, skirts, graphic T-shirts, track suits, jackets, socks, and gym bags. Targets young, active women in the age group of 16-30.
• Single-handedly designed the entire range of products starting from Ajile’s inception and led the direction of the brand, working directly with the CEO, buyers, and merchandisers.
• Independently created 360 winning designs annually, leading to a 12-fold increase in Ajile sales, from Rs. 10M ($0.2M) to Rs. 120M ($2.7M) within four years.
• Performed extensive market research and analysis of competiting brands, forecast fashion trends, and refined merchandise portfolio based on learnings/accordingly.
• Analyzed brand sales on a weekly basis and incorporated findings into the development of next-generation merchandise, such as creating novel striper designs and color combinations.
Trishaa: A leading women’s brand of ethnic Indian clothing. Targets young, independent professionals in the age group of 22-35.
• After thorough sales patterns and customer profile analysis, took the bold initiative to transform a slow-moving brand of mature ethnic-wear to a more youthful style. Result was a threefold increase in sales in only two-and-a-half years.
• Single-handedly designed the entire brand, from fashion forecasting to trend spotting to seasonal presentations.
• Independently created 480 winning designs annually.

• Independently designed entire range of womens-wear merchandise for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
• Stylized Indian and casual looks for all 28 participants of Miss India 2006 and Miss India 2007 show.
Miss India is the most highly recognized beauty pageant in India which annually selects three winners to compete internationally for Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International.
• Designed staff uniforms for Big Bazaar (hypermarket in India with 133 stores) & Food Bazaar (supermarket with 98 stores)
Freelance Work July 2004 - July 2005
• Developed strategy with TNS India Pvt. Ltd. for “ESPRIT” brand to enter the Indian market.
• Created computer specifications of garments for Allen Solly formal wear, Louis Philipp men’s wear, and SF jeans for Indian retailer Madura Fashion & Lifestyle.
• Assisted designer Jason Cheriyan, owner of private label, to develop fabric textures using various surface ornamentations.
Awards
• Sole recipient of the “Outstanding Performance” award in the entire design team at Pantaloons for 2008, 2009, and 2010.
• Ajile brand nominated for the “Most Preferred Private Label” award in the 2006 Images Fashion Awards.
• Awarded “Best Design Project” for Fashion Design & Information Technology batch (2002-2006), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)
• Won numerous awards for drawing and sketching throughout schooling.

• Diploma in Fashion Design and Information Technology, NIFT 2002 – 2006 NIFT (www.nift.ac.in) is India’s premiere institute of fashion design and management. Alumni include leading designers like Manish Arora, Ritu Beri, and Rohit Bal.
