CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Currently Safety and Industrial Hygiene Administrator for the City and County of Denver overseeing Citywide health and safety programs, implementing polices and procedures, developing data driven citywide health and safety training programs and conducting citywide health and safety audits.

• Director of Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety for 5 manufacturing facilities overseeing the Management Systems which includes OSHA training, internal auditing, personnel development for facility requirements and analysis of location specific safety and health trends.

• Developed and implemented a Safety Management System which includes OSHA training, internal and external auditing, personnel development for facility requirements and analysis of location specific safety and health trends.

• Developed and implemented an EHS Web Page for a local Alcoa Facility and for the Corporate Alcoa Location in Pittsburgh.

• Developed and implemented an EHS Management System (based on ISO 14001) that was recognized in the 2000 Alcoa Corporate EHS Audit rating as an "Excellent" and a "Good" in the (4) critical safety Audit requirements. (Fall Prevention, Mobile Equipment, Confined Space Entry and Lock/tag/verify).

• Developed and implemented EHS Management programs that were recognized by the Alcoa Corporate 1999 EHS Performance Award – becoming an Alcoa Benchmark Location.

• Reduced Workers Compensation Insurance cost 5% annually by developing and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety programs.

• Designed EHS training and implementation to educate the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO (IAMAW) union workforce on all EHS policies and procedures that contributed to a 50% reduction in on the job incidents, injuries and illnesses.

• Designed training and implementation for (IAMAW) union and non-union salaried workforce in the 5 S program. This program is equivalent to the Japanese 5 S program - Pillars of the Visual Workplace.

• Managed the Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Evaluation for land acquisition and new (ALCOA) Alcoa Packaging Machinery building in 1996.

• Managed Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Evaluation for the previous (ALCOA) Alcoa Packaging Machinery facility in 1995.

• Managed the closing of the previous Alcoa Packaging Machinery facility located at 4535 South Santa Fe Drive, Englewood, CO.

• Worked as an EHS Consultant for the Alcoa corporate EHS North American Services located in Pittsburgh, PA.

• Designed and implemented an Environmental Health and Safety Management System that include hazardous materials inventory and flow, hazardous waste disposal and manifesting and employee health and safety protocols and medical surveillance.

Responsible to direct and supervise departmental / agency safety professionals who perform accident and property damage investigations, exposures and other safety and health concerns and issues. Act as a direct resource to the management in the departments / agencies within the City and County of Denver. Act as the health and safety liaison to emergency response agencies, agency committees and community groups. Responsible for assisting location management to maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Develop, modify and implement policies and procedures for safety and health management system and work with individual departments / agencies to understand their site specific requirements to be compliant with the Citywide Safety and Health Management System.
