Extensive experience in the construction management profession. Having worked as a representative of the owner, tenant, developer and contractor, I am able to understand the unique needs of each group. My thorough understanding of architecture, engineering and construction practice enables me to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
2003-2009 CENTRO PROPERTIES GROUP (formerly Heritage Realty) Northbrook, IL
Senior Project Manager for the fifth largest National Shopping Center Owner with over 684 shopping centers and regional malls. I am currently functioning as Acting Director for the Northeast Region and responsible for the redevelopment of various Centers and Tenant Improvement work. Currently I have one project manager and administrative assistant reporting to me. In order to successfully complete my projects I work closely with Senior Management, Leasing Managers, Property Managers, Tenants, Architects, Contractors and other outside consultants.
In order to streamline multiple projects across multiple project managers, I created a process flow diagram which delineated which department, Leasing, Property Management, Legal or Construction was responsible for a certain task and which forms were to be used for project approvals.
I am involved with the budgeting, lease review, design, due diligence and construction of various retail stores and vanilla box work to prepare space for tenants. I provide construction support for the redevelopment of existing shopping centers to make them more profitable and appealing to future tenants. Typical projects consist of feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling, work letter negotiating, design and construction. A brief list of some tenants that I have worked with is: Petco, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, Famous Footwear, Dollar Tree, AC Moore, Aarons Rentals, etc.
1997- 2003 BLOCKBUSTER INC. Burr Ridge, Illinois
Project Manager: Responsible for the budgeting, design and construction of retail stores in the mid-west region. In 2002, I managed approximately 4.5 million dollars worth of new store construction, 31 + new stores. In order to be successful, I was required to work closely with real estate managers, general contractors, vendors, and operations as I built and opened new stores and completed remodeling projects for a national video store chain.
1991-1997 FISHER DEVELOPMENT INC Des Plaines, Illinois
Project Manager for the largest national retail general contractor involved in the bidding and construction of space throughout the US and Canada. Major clients included Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Hollywood Video.
Performed all aspects of project coordination. Responsibilities included estimating work, reviewing subcontractor’s bids, writing proposals, creating contracts, obtaining permits and reviewing change orders.
Responsible for the supervision of contractors and superintendents in order to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
1990-1991 VENTERRA SALES & MANAGEMENT Chicago, Illinois
Construction Manager. Represent developer in the design and construction of tenant space and assist Vice President in the construction of new office buildings (350 N LaSalle & Chatham Center in Roselle).
Completed project administration, documentation and coordination between tenant’s, architects, engineers and contractors. Solicited bids from general contractors and suppliers. Responsibilities included qualifying bids, value engineer pricing to meet buildout allowances, hire and direct contractors and negotiate change orders.
1988-1990 ROBERT L. FREDRICKSON CO Chicago, Illinois
Project Manager Represented general contractor in the competitive bidding and construction of interior space. Major clients included Sears, Keck, Mahin & Cate and other law firms.
Responsible for the supervision and coordination of sub-contractors and vendors. Created construction schedules, purchase orders, contracts and change orders. Estimated work performed by the company, obtained and reviewed sub-contractors bids, wrote proposals.

1984-1988 DEVRY INC. Evanston, Illinois
Project Manager & Facility Planner. Worked with VP of Development in the procurement of land and development of new school facilities. Coordinated, administered and supervised the design and construction of new schools and the remodeling of existing areas for a national school chain. Responsible for complete project administration from budget approval to move-in. Other areas of involvement included personnel relocation, purchasing of FF&E.
1977-1984 SEARS ROEBUCK & COMPANY Chicago, Illinois
Construction Coordinator promoted to Project Manager. Responsible for the creation of space plans, working drawings and documents required in the reconstructing or expansion of various headquarters’ departments. Supervised construction, prepared cost estimates, secured bids, created construction and move schedules for Sears office space relocations within Sears Tower.
