Currently working as a Graduate Process Engineer in “Technical Services Department” at Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL), Korangi-Karachi from the last 1.50 year.

Company Profile:
Pakistan Refinery Limited, under the management of Shell Petroleum International (major share holder), is installed by KELLOG & UOP equipped with Crude Distillation unit, Catalytic Reforming, Hydro-Treating unit, LPG Sweetening Unit, Utilities and WWTP sections & has a processing capacity of 50,000 bbls. / Day crude oil. PRL is producing Furnace oil, Kerosene, Jet fuels (JP1, JP8), High speed diesel (HSD), HOBC, Motor gasoline, LPG, and Fuel gases. PRL is also a first Asian OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) -18001 and ISO (EMS) – 14001 and ISO (QMS) -9001 certified Company.
Work Scope:
Process engineering activities i.e. process unit and equipment performance monitoring, process database management, optimization studies and troubleshooting.
Responsible for performance evaluation & optimization of Crude Distillation Unit, Hydrodesulphurization Unit , Plat forming Unit , LPG Treatment Unit , Waste water Treatment Plant and Utilities Section .
Activities Performed:
Act as an Interface with other engineering disciplines, and provide process input to carryout detailed engineering activities and participate and chair HAZOP studies.
Develop & Update the Process flow diagrams (PFD’s), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Utility Flow Diagrams (UFD’s) for Process Safety Evaluation.
Monitoring & evaluating the performance of various process equipments like Distillation Columns, Heat Exchangers, Condensers, Air coolers, Pumps, Compressors, Furnaces, Reactors, Cooling Towers, De-gasifiers & Boilers etc.
Daily plant monitoring and data logging of Crude distillation Unit, Utilities & WWTP to investigate the plant data base system & to evaluate the key performance indicators.
Generating (both Daily & Monthly) based performance fact sheets in connection with performance of different equipments.
Perform the Test Run Monitoring and to prepare report for the material balance and equipments performance.
Vigilance and thorough checking of finished products to ensure the quality/standard up to the mark.
Provide process data for instrument sizing.
Turn Around: Participated in turnaround; TA- 2011 and coordinated the following activities:
Skimming of Hydro treating unit reactor catalyst.
Erection of plat forming unit stabilizer.
Supervised Health safety and Environment related activities.
Worked as Lecturer/ Lab. Engineer in Chemical Engineering Department at University of Engineering & Technology-Lahore, (FSD CAMPUS), for about 8 months, through NIP Program.
