Producer, writer, videographer, editor of educational television programs. Examples include:
"A Spiritual Journey with the Fisk Jubilee Singers", a documentary look at the past and present accomplishments of this famous Nashville singing group. This program received many national awards including the Gabriel Award, National Association of Black Journalist salute to Excellence Award and Telly Award.
"Tennessee's Black Heritage", an hour long look at historically significant African American Tennesseans and events. This program received an Emmy Award nomination.
"Postcards From Tennessee", an hour long program looking at historic locations in Tennessee and the stories behind them.
"The Schermerhorn Symphony Center: A Music City Masterpiece", a hour long preview of the city's new symphony hall highlighting construction details and symphony history.
I have also worked in the daily news environment for much of my career receiving numerous awards for my work in a number of areas of expertise.
In charge of stations awards entries, which includes researching, organizing, doing all paperwork including budgeting, and meeting deadlines for entry in regional and national awards competition. Produce special videotape presentations for station personnel who are recipients of NATAS Silver Circle Awards. This award recognizes television professionals with 25 years experience in media. I do historical research, conduct on camera interviews, write, shoot, and edit videotapes shown at the awards presentation that honors the recipients career.
