The project was to develop a Sales Analysis system for Ranbaxy. It involved moving data from the OLTP production environment to a staging area. The data from the staging environment is then extracted and transformed and loaded into the mart. The source is Oracle database and the target is Oracle database. Informatica was used as the ETL tool and Cognos BI suite was used for analysis.

The Consumer Repository would feed the various customer relationship management applications like Epiphany and also generate feeds for the Nestle call center. The Project consisted of creating a relational model from various data feeds using Informatica PowerMart 6.1. The sources were XML and flat files. The data was staged in SQL Server 2000 and then transformed and loaded into the relational schema in Oracle.

Designed a logical model for the I2 Active Data warehouse (ADW). Designed and Developed interfaces in Informatica PowerCenter 5.0 to populate ADW from Northstar2000 and Peoplesoft. The interfaces extracted data from Northstar2000 in Informix and Peoplesoft in DB2, transformed the data according to the business logic and populated the ADW in Oracle. The dimensions of Sales analysis were customer, product and region for the different measures of sales revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, gross profit %, net sales and quantity sold.
