I managed the day-to-day administrative activities: assisted in developing the company’s operating plans and business policies, maintaining the time sheets for contract personnel, scheduling all employee meetings, conducted training for all employees, provided guidance for employee professional development, mentoring employees on organization culture to ensure compliance with laws, standards and others regulations. I created an interviewing and selection matrix for each job classification. I arranged and conducted off-site recruiting events, scheduled and conducted interviews, made recommendations for hiring, and conducted the separation/termination process. I developed a career succession grid for all employees with recommended resources so they could better prepare themselves to perform their jobs.

I conducted operational sessions for the leadership team to provide updates on public policies, issues and strategies that were important to our daily business activities. I conducted a variety of surveys to obtain information on customer relations, contract monitoring, and new Business Development to increase organizational efficiencies. Then I conduct statistical analyses of this data and made recommendations for action.

I teamed and conferred with Intellectual Business Solutions, Inc. customers personnel to provided effective and strong leadership as an advocate and representative for IBS, Inc. of various initiatives. I researched and developed plans to meet the customers stated objectives by assisting in conducting organization assessment through one-on-one interviews and focus groups. Once this data has been analyzed, presented to client’s management team and I assisted them in developing a pro-active approach for a successful project. I assisted in developing customized training for each client using the information that was received from the assessments. I assisted other team members in the preparation of training materials, copies, making binders, researching resources, and facilitated some of the training.

Project Manager/Workforce Development

I developed a customized brochure and implemented marketing strategies for Athens State University for their Higher Education Business & Industry Services to local companies in the Athens community. I also provided training support to partnering companies in Management Skills, Leadership Skills, Strategic planning and Computer Software to support their established criteria for compliance to standards an others requirements. I maintained periodic contacts with clients to assess and address their consulting and training needs. To facilitate this process I developed customized technical and non-technical training courses for the clients and offered them as non-credit educational and professional development courses, but presented a certificate upon completion. I represented the college at various community and civic functions to promote this program. As the project manager of workforce development I was required to develop key relations with executives and other top management officials within the Business sector, Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development offices to become knowledgeable of the skill requirements of established and future companies.

Goodyear Dunlop Tires N.A., LTD (April 1973- December 2003)- Human Resources Organization Development-Training Specialist

I assisted in developing strategic goals for the organization to increase profitability. This was accomplished by coordinating and implementing training systems to document, track training and performance. I utilized Microsoft Office Access for analysis, tracking training. I also assisted in developing training plans that assisted in improving employee performance through investment of over 47 hours a year per employee. This training was critical to the entire workforce. The training that was used for this improvement was communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and diversity. I worked with a team of employees in coordinating and writing of job descriptions and analysis for cross job training. This was used to document each step of the job process to improve on the job training time. This process was used to stay in compliance with ISO 9000 program in which I became certified as an internal Auditor and conducted job certification. Through my commitment for improvement of communication within the business unit, I was recognized for coordination of improved communications between employer and employee through the publication of business units and plant newsletters. I used the in-house audiovisual system by creating PowerPoint and Excel presentations to quickly communicate information to all employees. I used Microsoft Office Software for creating presentation material for group meetings. These meetings were a forum to provide and support customer satisfaction awareness information to transition the organization in becoming an Original Equipment Manufacturer supplier to Honda, Toyota and Mercedes.

Recruiter

I worked with a team of co-workers to recruit, screen, select and train 350 people in one year and made hiring requisitions for major plant expansion. This was conducted to staff an entire new shift of employees. A plan was developed to transition employees into the current workforce that would not impede production. A simulation of work processes were created to provide real time training.

Career Development Facilitator

I worked with a team of Facilitators at the corporate office to support employees in developing their career tracks in succession planning through training and professional development. When an employee became aware of a promotion or job transfer, I would work with them to provide additional resources that would aid them in there transition.

Diversity Liaison

I represented the company in Community Out-Reach programs as liaison between Huntsville, Alabama facility and Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce for recruiting of employees for community service projects. I also interfaced with Chamber Publication Editor on company related news. I worked with the local organization to promoted civility and respect among a diverse workforce through mentoring, training and awareness techniques.

Total Quality Management

I managed the “Employee Teamwork” program, staffed, and trained problem solving teams. I coordinated and presented Total Quality Management workshops. I had the responsibility to evaluated team effectiveness, and resolved team related problems. The team would work on project to improve work flow and develop teamwork skills. I would conducted and provide monthly meetings and reports with Plant and Corporate Steering Committees. These meetings and reports would be used to measure the overall efforts of this program. One purpose of these teams was to present to the customer some continual quality improvement efforts. I would prepare a team and their presentation to travel to one of the customer’s yearly conferences.
