SUMMARY:

Demonstrated experience in software configuration/release management and software quality assurance. Over the past 5 years, I have successfully released to market 5 Major Product Releases and 4 Minor L10N Releases. These were all successfully released on schedule as a result of my creation of a continuous automated software build system which utilizes Cruise Control.

This also included, traveling to Shanghai, China to train the remote team members on software build processes and procedures and SDLC procedures. Having also utilized Agile Scrum methodologies has helped me assess the real-world progress of our projects so we could plan and schedule releases. This has allowed our project’s direction to be adjusted or reoriented based on completed work, not speculation or predictions.

SUMMARY OF TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• In-depth product knowledge of HP Software: EDM and RADIA, OVCM, HPCA.

• Working knowledge of XP, 2000, NT and Win9x, Vista, HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, SunX86, and LINUX

• Working knowledge of data comparison tools such as HeatSoft’s ADCS

• Knowledge in Packaging Technology such as Windows MSI

• Some Prior knowledge of relational databases, SQL Server and Oracle.

• Experienced working with team collaboration tools such as Quality Center, ScrumWorks.

• Experienced working with defect tracking tools: REMEDY and QUIX Team Track.

• Use of multiple system tools and utilities: CVS, Cygwin, GHOST, Partition Magic, Exceed, Reflection X, Sysinternal, VMWare, VirtualPC, Tcl/Tk, ANT scripting, Eclipse, FileZilla, Tortoise CVS.

• Daily use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products.

• Knowledge of Survey Taking and Analysis, including creating charts using Microsoft Excel.

• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration tools such as Cruise Control, ANT, and Hudson.

• Working knowledge of Source Control Management and branching/tagging.

• Experienced with Project Management Tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and HP Quality Center.

Software Build Manager (Nov 2006 – Present)

• Lead a monthly Global meeting of all Build Factory leaders from all locales.

• Conducted surveys to understand the state of our team’s knowledge, experience, and understanding of processes and procedures. This was then used to create a Knowledge Management Plan for the Global Build Factory Team.

• Established Continuous Integration Builds by implementing baseline VMWare images that run systematic CruiseControl builds.

• Create and maintain all build projects using ANT scripting and Eclipse IDE.

• Promoted resultant build artifacts to the test teams and to the build verification tests.

• Create and maintain SharePoint containing all supporting procedural documentation and build scripts.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer/Software Release Management (Feb 2004 – Nov 2006)

• Manage offshore software quality assurance teams in China and India.

• Able to apply current skills in the Japanese language to the software internationalization and localization efforts.

• Maintain a strong link to the offshore teams via weekly meetings and through weekly status reports.

• Key player in Hewlett Packard ITA-Fusion Team meetings to sunset the HP-ITA product and replace with Novadigm’s Unix Inventory Solution.

• Supported customers that implemented Novadigm products through severity level procedures that included “off-hours” support.

• Produced Technical Support Notes for customer consumption related to problems discovered or for ease of implementation.

• Member of “Upgrade Team” where version control and upgrade maintenance were discussed and implemented before customer beta-teams were notified.

• Project Lead for Team Mentoring. Training all new hires in company processes, procedures, and product knowledge.

• Created presentations to enrich fellow engineers in Product Knowledge as related to core product technologies.

• Assisted Quality Assurance in the Windows MSI Packaging and Deployment testing procedures.
