Contracts
• Wrote customized request for proposal packages to support production and supply parts. These 60 customized packages were sent to both United States and foreign companies including Pratt and Whitney Canada, Martin Baker of UK, and FN Herstal, Belgium. Proposals consisted of comprehensive program explanations and requirements such as pricing, due dates, governmental terms and conditions.
• Successful relationships were established with suppliers resulting proper proposal completion and 95% participation. As the supplier bids were returned, pricing evaluations were performed to recommend or reject the price proposed. Comparative pricing was utilized to establish baseline for parts. Upon establishment of fair base price, a global price index was implemented to adjust proposal pricing.
Cost Saving Relationships
• Developed a strong relationship with Vice-President of Niagara Thermal Products. This relationship was a key component in successfully negotiating a quantity discount to a $1.3 million heat exchanger contract. The total savings of the awarded contract was in the amount of $200,000.
• Through rigorous and persistent negotiations, primarily with the director of sales, successfully lowered current price of engine vibration isolator mounts from manufacturer Barry Controls Aerospace by 75 percent. Barry reduced price when presented with evidence of current value of mount utilizing comparisons with other suppliers and factoring global pricing index.
Small Team Responsibility
• Teamed with project managers, engineering and legal departments to negotiate 3 separate heat exchanger contract change proposals with sales representatives of Niagara Thermal Products.
• Successfully obligated Niagara Thermal Products to cover $750,000 cost of replacing faulty heat exchangers on 65 T-6 Trainer aircrafts while maintaining positive working relationship.
