I am a motivational operations leader with multi-industry experience who drives union and non-union employees to meet and exceed performance goals. Adept at applying Lean Manufacturing protocol to improve processes and drive increased productivity, I posses an impressive background in engineering, maintenance and large scale project management. My skills include…

• Increasing technical capabilities of established production processes

• Maximizing capital investment with decreased manpower

• Implementing innovative production solutions in diverse industries and markets

• Developing corporate Lean training materials, leading instruction at 11 company sites

• Reorganizing supply chain to improve quality, cost and inventory management

An astute problem solver, I drive out-of-the-box thinking and complete projects quickly and efficiently. I grasp intricate concepts quickly and convey technical information to laymen in terms they can understand. I received a Masters of Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from GMI. I am a certified Six Sigma Black Belt with additional certifications in Lean, Kanban, VSM and Kaizen.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Increasing productivity while reducing labor. Casting production at Kaiser Aluminum was stagnant. Promoted to improve productivity of casting area. Designed a CAM standard work model that maximized throughput in the furnace complexes, allowed variable data to be entered and identified constraints. Drove throughput from 33M to 48M lbs. per month, while simultaneously decreasing conversion cost 17%.

Developed new manufacturing cell. Production change requests from a high-dollar customer were costing Ford Electronic/Visteon over $1M each year. Designed a cutting edge manufacturing cell, incorporating Japanese production concepts to handle all future product updates. Led project from financial justification to final operations, completing implementation within five months at $100K below budget. New cell increased plant capacity by 10%.

Established inventory management system. Matco productivity was at a multi-year low. Instituted a quality system to assess and countermeasure product defects. Identified and broke-down plant bottlenecks, establishing new inventory management system. Improved production quality 10% and overall output by 21% within two years.

Renegotiated vendor contracts. Matco was facing unreliable deliveries and unhealthy vendor relationships. Requested and reviewed proposals from potential new suppliers, diverting 50% of the plant spend to companies that valued a mutually beneficial partnership. Set-up Kanban inventory, decreasing plant late backlog from three weeks to under two days. Reduced total on-hand inventory 20%.
