Dear CSI Systems,

I am applying for the Solar Installer Position posted on MySpace Jobs on June 19, 2009. I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to discuss this position and my candidacy with you.

I am currently a junior at the University of Phoenix, working towards a Bachelors degree in Green Business and Sustainable Enterprise Management. This degree can be obtained online, allowing me a sufficient amount of time to work a full time schedule, as well as be able to live anywhere employment opportunities may arise.

For the past three years I have been studying Architecture, during the course of my studies I became increasingly aware and interested in green building and sustainable energy technologies. Eventually it developed into a passion, more so than Architecture, so I recently changed my major to the Green Business and Sustainable Enterprise Management and I would love to get my foot in the door into the Solar Industry or anything to do with Renewable Energy Generating Systems. With my experience, I thought that starting out as an installer would make a lot sense.

I would bring over two years of experience in Construction, building and remodeling homes. This, along with my architectural studies, has given me a strong understanding of building systems, as well as an aptitude for tool usage in the field. I have much experience at great heights (roofing and painting houses). I am currently enrolled in a summer course on Solar Panel Installation, which is a hands on lab, designed to encompass design, sizing, storage details, sun charts, urban and rural solutions, and to learn about passive solar design with thermal mass and insulation, water and space heating, and photovoltaic. Furthermore, I have also worked as a bartender for over two years, so I am used to a fast paced, high intensity environment, and my customer relation skills are very well honed.

Physically, I was previously a collegiate level athlete and I work hard to maintain a high level of physical fitness, so I believe that I am 100 percent capable of performing the necessary tasks.

On the job, I am a listener, who pays great attention to detail. I have a great desire to excel at my work, whatever that may take. I never panic, in any situation. I try to keep things in perspective and have a sense humor.
