BUSINESS HISTORY:
7/98-1/12 Sun Chemical
The world's largest ink manufacture with sales in excess of
$8 billion dollars annually. The three segments of their
ink products consisted of publication, commercial and
packaging. I am employed within the packaging group, and
work out of the Kansas City Customer Service Center. Sun
Chemical has gone through numerous reorganizations over the
last few years. My function has and continues to be to
focus on packaging inks which includes solvent, water and
UV technologies to flexographic printer of various size and
skills.
Responsibilities: Account Manager - Responsible for
maintaining and increasing sales to existing accounts and
developing new accounts. This is accomplished by
developing interest in Sun Chemical with introduction of
quality products, technical support and product
performance. By maximizing cold calling, managing my
territory effectively and developing and maintaining
relationships with key decision makers at existing and
target accounts, sales pounds have increased over 50%.
This is a major accomplishment in the highly competitive
marketplace. This involves both regional, local and
national account relationship management. Territory
traveled: Kansas City metropolitan area including western
Missouri from Iowa border to Arkansas / Oklahoma border;
eastern Kansas down to Wichita and then north to the
border; Omaha - Lincoln area and Des Moines, Iowa area
between I-80 and I-35.
1/96-6/98 Coates Inks, Inc.
An international ink manufacturer with a United States
based manufacturing facility located in Greer South
Carolina. This United States Division concentrated
primarily on the flexible packaging industry.
Responsibilities: Regional Account Manager - Responsible
for maintaining and increasing sales to existing accounts
and developing new accounts in a new territory. Sales have
increased approximately 65 percent since my appointment to
the territory in 1996. This was accomplished by developing
interest in Coates Inks, Inc. and the introduction of
quality products, technical expertise and product
performance. Also responsible for maintaining local
warehouse inventory for customers. Territory covered:
Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
7/90-1/94 Essex Waste Management Services, Inc.
A Missouri based TS&D facility that specializes in
disposing of industrial hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
Responsibilities: Territory Sales Manager - Responsible
for maintaining existing accounts and developing new
accounts by presenting hazardous waste disposal programs.
Through hard-work and persistence, this newly formed
territory had increases in sales every year. Territory
covered: Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, with three to
four nights per week traveling.
7/87-5/90 Color Converting Industries
A Des Moines, Iowa based company that manufactures printing
inks for the flexible packaging industry. This industry
includes corrugated cartons, envelopes, multi-wall bags,
flexible packaging converters and specialty ink systems.
Responsibilities: Area Sales Manager - Responsible for
maintaining and increasing sales to existing accounts and
developing new accounts by prospecting and cold-calling in
a new territory. This was accomplished by developing
interest in Color Converting Industries and the
introduction of quality products, technical expertise and
product performance. Territory covered: Kansas, Missouri,
Oklahoma, Arkansas and Western Tennessee.
1/83-7/87 Waste Research and Reclamation Company, Inc. (WR&R)
A Wisconsin based corporation that specializes in
reclaiming and recycling industrial waste, oil and chemical
products.
Responsibilities: Territory Sales Manager - Responsible
for projections, planning, execution and reporting on new,
as well as existing businesses that generate hazardous
waste products wither for reclamation or disposal.
Territory consists of Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Illinois.
7/82-1/83 Solvent Recovery, Inc.
A Kansas City based company that dealt with the recovery of
hazardous waste generated by local business.
Responsibilities: Sales Representative - Responsible for
calling on manufactures who generate hazardous waste, as
well as calling on existing accounts and soliciting new
businesses from prospects for Douglas Paint Company.
Territory was the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
1/82-7/82 US Paint, Division of Grow Group, Inc.
Manufactures and sells polyurethane (industrial) coatings.
Responsibilities: Sales Representative - Responsible for
calling on new accounts, expanding territories and
increasing sales in southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma.
This territory has annual revenues in excess of $675,000.
Major OEM accounts include Cessna, Beach, Learn and Boeing.
4/79-6/81 The Martin-Senour Paint Company, a division of Sherwin
Williams
Manufacturer of paint coatings and industrial coatings for
consumer and individual sales market.
Responsibilities: Dealer Sales Representative -
Responsible for calling on established accounts,
introducing new products and surveying cities for possible
new dealers. Territory included the sate of Kansas and a
small portion of western Missouri, including Kansas City.
In January of 1981, my territory expanded to include aster
Oklahoma, northwest Arkansas and two new dealers in Kansas.
3/72-3/79 Cook Paint and Varnish Company
Manufacturer of paint coatings and industrial coatings for
consumer and industrial sales market.
Responsibilities: Hired as Sales Clerk in Quincy,
Illinois, worked up to the position of Branch Manger in
Kansas City, Missouri. Became responsible for the
management and supervisor of the Branch office in Kansas
City. While in this capacity was directly responsible for
increased sales by $1,000,000 and show a new profit of
$25,000.00.
