I was associated with M/s Integrated Casetech Consultants (P) Ltd, a sister concern of M/s Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd and posted in Philippines since July 2009, heading the team for giving consultancy in operations and maintenance in 9000 TCD sugar plant. I returned back to India on 26th Dec, 2011.

Casetech is consultancy firm providing consultancy in cane plantation, alcohol, raw and refined sugar and energy, in India and in abroad. I am team leader in URC, Sonedco, Philippines where our team is posted to provide consultancy in operations and maintenance of 9000 TCD raw cum refined sugar plant. URC is third largest group in Philippines having business in Airlines, Hotels, Cellular services, Food chain, Land development and sugar.

Nahar Sugar is 4500 TCD sugar plant with cogeneration of 6 MW.

Executed Erection, Commissioning of 8MW condensing cum extraction turbine and was incharge of maintenance of whole sugar plant having 2 boilers of 35 TPH and 1 boiler of 40 TPH with 3 turbines of 2.5 MW each.

It is 100 % export oriented organization exporting auto parts to Europe and America. I headed the forging unit. Used to plan production for 15 days or 30 days of various parts and managed the materials with implementing strict quality control.

Raw sugar production doubled from 1.25 million Lkg bags in season 2008-09 to 2.5 million Lkg bags in season 2010-11, in URC Sonedco, Philippines.

Total stoppages in plant operations were reduced by 70%.

Steam consumption of plant was reduced from 56% to 50% resulting in huge saving of bagasse.

Reduced all the losses in plant making it one of the most efficient plant in Philippines.

Assessing performance of the plant (in terms of Fuel/Lube consumption, machine availability, efficiency etc) on regular basis for optimizing the operating parameters to ensure the most efficient operation of the plant, reporting and updating the management on the above assessment on a monthly basis and submitting the suggestion for improvement supported by technical and cost details.

Identifying the suppliers, collecting quotations and negotiating for the economical procurement of the spares and planning the requirement in a way to ensure the availability of the spares for preventive maintenance.

System compliance (SAP) for indenting, material transfer (STO/STN), inventory management, budget planning of various spare parts and consumables.

Generating and publishing MIS from system for various materials related transactions.

Preparing models to facilitate preventive & predictive maintenances / overhauling / repair schedules of sugar plants to increase equipment reliability.

Identifying areas of obstruction / breakdowns and taking corrective measures / steps to rectify the equipments through application of trouble shooting tools.

Ensuring more than 98% machine availability for the assets installed in the plant by conducting timely checks & measures.

Executing cost saving and energy saving techniques/measures and modifications to achieve substantial reduction in O&M Expenditures and work within the budget.

Budgetary planning of O&M of sugar plant.

Assessing the work force through various meetings and evaluation for encouraging them to actively participate in the development of the plant by properly recognizing each personnel contribution and suggestions.

Project Management

Planning detailed engineering activities like preparation of conceptual layout and finalization of requirements and specifications.

Preparation of technical specifications & scope and deliverables, estimates and SOQ based on requirements generated during detailed engineering of the project.

Erection, commissioning of equipments, providing utility services to the equipments.
