KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documentation : Preparation of tender documents and pre-tender data e.g. Conditions of

Contract, Specifications, Bill of Quantities and Engineers’ Estimates. Correspondence with concerned agencies and other administrative works.

• Quantities : Take off estimated quantities from tender drawings and corrected

quantities from construction drawings on Excel.

• Scheduling : After quantities take off then make planning regarding the deployment of

minimum manpower and equipment according to the size of project.

• Evaluation : Evaluate quotations obtained from different suppliers/sub-contractors and negotiate with them on the rate with quality and quantity.

• Tendering : Before submitting any tender, discuss with the suppliers/sub-contractors regarding the rates of those items of BOQ’s which relate to them and finally discuss with Client regarding his intention for margin of profit percentage before submitting any tender.

• Planning : Prepare work programs (item and time vise) and Cash Flow and other

related bar charts (horizontal and vertical) and if found any delay in it, prepare revised programs according to time left and intimate the seniors with suggestion accordingly.

• Site Visit : 2/3 daily site visit regarding the billing and progress purposes of work

whether it is on or behind schedule and if found behind schedule then advice the site staff how to expedite the progress of work.

• Progress Report : Checking of daily, weekly and monthly progress reports on Excel and submit

them to the Consultant and the Employer.

• Billing : Valuation of completed works – preparing/checking measurement sheets,

Abstract of Cost, escalations, claims, day works, rate analysis etc. on Excel by applying related formulas and adjusting width of columns and height of rows.

ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS

• Correspondence with the Consultants, Contractors and Employers on technical matters e.g. on Conditions of Contract, Specifications and Bill of Quantities and by doing that there are more chances for the Contractors in creating the variation orders for extra/additional works and I always remain successful in doing that. Full control on Microsoft Words and Excel and always prefer to work more than office hours (up to 60/70 hours per week).

Preparing of running bills, variation orders, escalation, claims, work program, cash flow, progress reports on Excel and submit them to Consultant for approval. Checking

in detail the Tender Documents, Specifications, Engineer’s Estimates and Bill of Quantities and select those points which are in favor of the Contractor and make correspondence with the Consultant and due to this, variation order can easily be created.. I have also been performing the duties of a Contract Engineer.

Supervising all activities of different roads and infrastructure projects. Advising and guiding the Contractors for early completion of projects with less cost of construction. Checking of running bills of the Contractors. Evaluate quotations obtained from different suppliers and Contractors. Keep tight control on quality and progress of works. Preparing progress reports, work programs, cash flow which submitted by the Contractors and if find any discrepancies then make correspondence and discuss with the Contractors in monthly progress meetings. Developing knowledge on relevant Contract Conditions, Specifications and Bill of Quantities. Negotiating to ensure budgets are not exceeding and giving good advices to the Contractors and the Employer which are in favor of early completion of project.
