Member of the Operating Committee with local and regional responsibilities for all facets of IT functions and communication systems.

Responsible for the local management of the entire computerized operation of the newspaper and eleven technical support staff utilizing multiple operating systems (Unix, OS400, Windows 2000) for overall business operations plus extensive, varied publishing equipment including more than 250 PC’s and MAC’s. Specific responsibilities include: effectively managing staff to ensure the team’s success in meeting performance goals; effectively using a $750K budget to meet/exceed the company’s business objectives; monitoring and ensuring proper use of systems resources, including people, equipment and non payroll expenditures; evaluating new technology on a cost/benefit basis and assessing its applicability to the company’s requirements; coordinating the capital acquisition process for new technology and insuring successful implementation. Also responsible for reviewing regional budgets and capital requests as well as monitoring and providing technical advice for a group of fifteen small to mid-sized newspapers.

• Successful integration of 15 newspapers in Wisconsin onto one network to create a regional Classified department as well as a regional pagination department

• Created new system to integrate coin counting system to Circulation system savings the accounting dept over $50,000 annually

• Implemented new electronic balancing procedure that saved the Finance Dept over 30hrs a week. This system was later adopted Gannett wide.
