Controls Engineer – Project Manager

I worked as the Project Manager for the St Louis ITM group with the new 2008 minivan model launch. I did the same for the 2005 minivan Sto'n'Go project and for the 2001 Dodge Ram truck model launch. In between launches, I was the FIS/AVI Manager (Factory Information System / Automatic Vehicle Identification) for both the North and South assembly plants.

The ITM group is responsible for data communications (PFS - Performance Feedback System, PFCS - Plant Floor Communication System, AVI - Automatic Vehicle Identification, QAS - Quality Assurance System, ALS - Automatic Line Stop, FIS - Factory Information System) between various systems used to provide information for building vehicles, recording results and providing data to help troubleshoot and maintain the equipment.

Other duties included - Team lead for supporting, maintaining and upgrading the FIS, AVI, QAS and ALS systems for both the North and South plants, providing training to new plant hires and new ITM group members in FIS/QAS, assisting customers having problems with the local area network, PFS and FIS communications systems. We provide first line support for all computer communications within the plant.

Temperature Monitoring Project - led the team to install temperature and humidity monitors in the main Data Center and a sub Data Center. The purpose was to add the ability to monitor remotely, record and alert personnel when the temperature rose above alarm levels.

Worked at Anheuser-Busch engineering office for various A-B projects. I spent 2 years programming plcs for and starting up several kathapac systems in the Columbus, Newark, Houston breweries. Later worked on other Anheuser Busch projects - the Fort Collins, CO brewery startup (Clean in Place) and the St Louis brewery modernization (mill tower and brewhouse interface).

In between A-B projects, I worked on potato chip lines for Frito Lay, automation of a baby food line for Bristol Meyers, Granite City Steel automation upgrades.

Originated a method using the Foxboro I/A and PLC-3 to input, modify and store multiple brew recipes for the A-B St Louis brewery. This method used an I/A HMI to load and modify the recipes and store them in a PLC-3. .
