Project Description
MERCURY MARINE (MM) is a part of BRUNSWICK group (based in Chicago, US) , which is a pioneer in the Marine industry in US , Europe & Asia. MM is involved in manufacturing of Water boats, Boat Engines & accessories for some big companies / distributors all over the world. It has got manufacturing / distribution plants and sales offices all over the world.
Sales & Marketing is the main application for ORDER entry system for MM. Orders can come thru MM sales offices all over the world OR from the customers (who are Dealers /Distributors) directly using the MM applications like Mercnet, IMI, EDI etc.
The life cycle of this application consists of Profile Creation, Order Creation, BOM creation, Order Maintenance, Manufacturing process, Credit Approvals, Shipping, Invoicing and Claims/Collections.
In this application, data is stored in IMS, DB2, VSAM & flat files. Front end screens on M/F are developed in IMS DC.
This project is a development/enhancement project. Many new programs are developed in COBOL/IMS/DB2. Production support is involved in the Maintenance
