Client Case Studies and Referrals

McDonalds

I produced live events for the OPNAD meetings for the McDonalds for three years. These meetings were for the Owner/Operator representatives to approve upcoming advertising and marketing budgets since they were responsible for half of the expense. Among my crowning achievements was to stage a mock political rally for the introduction of the Beanie Baby promotions in 1998. I asked each of the agencies working for McDonalds at the time for 5-10 employees. We had hand held signs, hats, buttons and banners created for each “party” that, at the appropriate time of the presentation, the employees wore when they stormed into the room to Souza type music. As they walked through the room, exploding balloons over the heads of the audience were triggered to help create a festive, patriotic feel. Since the budget was very small, I had called in some favors to get everything printed and had to design and build a way to have the banners reveal at the right time that included people back stage to cut the wires holding up the banners on cue. The event was referenced even three years later as to how effective and fun it had been. An amusing side note: the CEO, Jack Greenberg, happened to sit directly underneath one of the exploding balloons and was covered in the confetti and smaller balloons that were inside. Luckily, Mr. Greenberg had a great sense of humor.

The following year, I convinced them to change the stage layout to include two additional LCD panels that would roll the newly acquired glamour footage of their new menu items in loops that would then advance as needed. Using some new technology, we maintained the crew size and ran the new footage from a second computer, driven by the first, in sync with the presentations as they were given.

MDRT

The Million Dollar Round Table is a global not-for-profit organization of successful insurance salesman with an emphasis on networking and altruistic aims.

I have created interactive CD’s in both Flash and Director for them and at their Annual Meetings, I shoot video of each day’s events and then edit together one-minute highlight clips of each day on my laptop at night for delivery on the web the next morning. This year, I even edited the 10 minute highlights video of the whole meeting for them.

“In the past few years, Greg Zilioli has produced a number of multimedia products for MDRT. In the highly specialized fields of video and multimedia, it is rare to find someone that is as versatile as Greg. Our projects require not only a thorough knowledge of various software programs and a mastery of hardware and technical skills, but also creative innovation and professional standards. Greg truly delivered on each project. So much so, that our CEO commented that one of Greg's CD-ROM's was "the best piece of media ever produced in the 78 years of our organization". In addition, he never misses a deadline and always remains within budget.

Last year, just before our annual meeting in New Orleans, our executive committee asked if we could put daily video clips from the meeting's events on our web site. Considering the size and scope of our event, nearly 10,000 attendees and over 100 speakers, I was not sure if we could pull it off. The resources of my contracted production companies were already stretched to their capacities and their skills limited. So I turned to Greg for help and he came through, big time. He blanketed the entire New Orleans Convention Center with his video camera, covering all our events for five long days. Greg edited the video, created the graphics, compressed the video and posted it on our web site in time for our members who could not attend, to view it when they woke up the next morning.

I was then able to tell our executives that their wishes were now a reality, thanks to Greg Zilioli's exceptional skills, innovation, versatility and willingness to work in a team atmosphere. He also saved us a lot of money by providing skills and techniques that normally require a variety of technicians.

I don't consider Greg a hired freelancer, I consider him a member of my team.”

Corbett has asked me to several things for them. First, I created the 3D animation they use to open each new business pitch to demonstrate some of their most effective and popular campaigns. Second, I have created brand personality video clips for the brands they are going to pitch. Third, I have created a number of animated emails for them to send out prior to the pitches as teasers. Fourth, I produced and created animations to be were displayed over multiple monitors at a trade show. The animated images traveled from screen to screen around the booth with sound effects following them.

“Greg has collaborated with our company on numerous projects. Invariably, Greg provides innovative approaches and solutions to problems that go beyond the expected. His resourceful thinking, masterful technical skills and creativity have been a great asset to us. He’s our “secret weapon”.

“I am more then happy to write a note on your behalf as I found working with you one of the more productive experiences I had at Corbett. Our new business development really took off when we added your creative and production ability to the process. The work you did with the theme videos helped set us apart from our competition. The level of finish and production quality was always outstanding and completed in timelines that were always ridiculous, in fact sometimes insane.”

“We won more new business when working with you then the Agency ever had in the past. The results were so impressive that we grew our business by 50% after you joined the team adding both domestic and global business assignments. The reason I believe was that with you a part of as part of our team, the Agency team was allowed to focus on the message and leave the delivery to you. The work was always impeccable.”

The Quality Assurance department had been in existence for 35 years but had never met as a group in one place at the same time. Also, their “internal affairs” function did not endear them to any of the other departments. So for their first ever global meeting, they wanted to create an opening video that would motivate the employees and then show a highlight video of the meeting itself. With the help of a camera man and audio technician, I had five employees read the first paragraph of the Credo, a statement of their responsibility to the doctors, nurses and patients that use their medicines, and five of the top ten management executives who thanked them for their dedication to the ideals set forth in the Credo on behalf of the departments they represented. Not only did I deliver an opening video for day 1, but realized that I had the material to deliver another message on day 2 reinforcing the thought that everything they did mattered, not just in the data management role they were used to, but to the patients as well. They were in fact, the last line of defense, the Champions of the Credo.

During the meeting, the camera man was capturing the speakers on stage from a tripod in the back of the room. I handed the audio technician another camera and told him to go get the reaction shots that we would need for the highlights reel. Then I had to review the footage of two days and two cameras and assemble, in one night, a video of the meeting that was shown at the meeting’s close. My work put a human face on the work that each of the employees did, showed them how valuable they were to the company as a whole and showed them how far they had come as a group in three days.

“Greg has delivered high impact results on a number of video campaigns for Johnson & Johnson. He quickly integrated himself into the business strategy and managed the projects from conception through final production and delivery. Moreover, his work ethic, acumen and demeanor make him a pleasure to work with. He is a significant asset to his clients and their businesses."
