Employment History
Company Sectra Medical Systems UK
Position Senior Project Engineer
Dates July 2008 - date
Currently working exclusively on the London i200 project, where I have been heavily involved in a number of tasks including the connection to a centralised archive (MIA), the central PACS Exchange project, upgrade of the upgrade procedure and the restructuring of the network backbone. I have been lead engineer on the v11.4 upgrade process and have been very involved in the introduction of the PACS monitoring tool; PACS Guard.
I also work on modality connections and troubleshooting, and have helped rewrite the documentation for this process. I devised and documented the process for connecting to a remote company to enable remote reporting by a third party company; Burnbank.
Additionally, I deal with the escalated problem calls and tend to be the “company face” in London for those issues that need extra attention.
Company Philips Medical Systems
Position Business Line Specialist / Team Leader
Dates December 2004 – July 2008
Team Leader – (July 2006 – July 2008)
I took upon the role of managing the UK based HIT engineers within the UK and Ireland. I managed their time and planned their future availability. I was heavily involved in the recruitment and interviewing of engineers, as well as planning and implementing induction courses. Another aspect of this role is to manage the Incident and Problem managers who work closely with the service desk. The role also means I have control of the internal and external training planning for all engineers. I also plan and present quarterly meetings.
Business Line Specialist – (Dec 2004 – July 2006)
Took on the BLS role, which gave me the opportunity to look at different aspects of the department. Aspects of this role include ensuring the applications run in accordance to the separate SLA’s. It’s a role the where I look into the security of systems. I ensure that all systems are available, in accordance to the accepted and agreed availability levels. I acted as an escalation point for all reported incidents where the service desk needs assistance. The role was also concerned with planning the future capacity of systems.
One major project was to help with the adoption of ITIL throughout the service team, creating process documentation and employing the ITIL resources we required.
The Specialist role allows me to share information with engineers and with clients, and often required me to attend project meetings to advise from a technical perspective.
