Wills, Estates and Trust – The course included the organization and functions of the probate court, the laws of intestate succession, preparation and execution of wills, guardianships, the more common forms of trusts, and their administration.

Business Law – This course summary covered the basic concepts of business law as well as the documents and forms essential to the paralegal in a business law environment. The principles of contract law, agency law, partnerships and Uniform Commercial Code were discussed. Emphasis was on the formation of the business form start-up, to incorporation, to mergers and acquisition.

Family Law – This course incorporated introduction to all areas of family law: marriage, divorce, separation, adoption, guardianship, annulment, cohabitation, custody, Ad Litem appointments, community property and others. Emphasis was placed on developing skill for working with clients and drafting the necessary documents

Criminal Litigation – The course included both substantive law and criminal procedure. The importance of constitutional law to these fields was emphasized.

Property Law– The course covered the general principles of property ownership and transfer with emphasis on real property, title insurance, and financing. Emphasis was place on personal injury actions from initial complaint through discovery, trial, and appeal. Topics included intentional torts, negligence, and alternative dispute resolution.

Administrative Law –This course provided a basic overview of administrative law and procedure. In addition to identifying sources of administrative law and procedure, this course covered agency actions, controls on agency actions, administrative hearings, and appeal of administrative decisions.

Legal Research and Writing –This course emphasized on the fundamental legal research concepts, including fact research, primary and secondary authority research, validation of primary authority. The course covered every major category of legal writing in a modern law office, including letters, instruments, pleadings, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs.
