PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Dolby Laboratories, San Francisco, 11/1999 ~ 01/2009

1. Sales Director / Director of China Business, San Francisco, 07/2005 – 01/2009

To provide sales, marketing, business development and customer support leadership for Dolby business on consumer electronics, broadcast / IPTV, PC and mobile in greater China region. Responsible for developing and implementing business strategy to increase revenue & design-win, grow market penetration and visibility of Dolby technologies used in above areas.

• Successfully built the sales, business development, engineering and compliance teams in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei and Shenzhen. Drove regional revenue reach $121M in FY08 therefore Greater China has become the highest region from the lowest in 2002. Consecutively exceeded objective for 7 years since 2002. Besides, the business has been significantly increased and diversified to PC, digital broadcast and mobile segments as consumer electronics was the majority revenue source in 2002.

• Improved the previous simple sales/revenue circle. We actively look for strategic partners, and provide various assistance from product feature definition, design to promotion by corporate international platforms. This win-win cooperation guarantees sustainable growth.

• Fundamentally reversed crisis of Hong Kong branch in two quarters when regional compliance & revenue center in Hong Kong was accidentally shut down, and saved $26M revenue in 2005 by excellent organization & coordination. A special award is received and also honored as the annual best employee at Dolby.

• Effectively established regional sales/marketing strategies based on guidance of headquarter. Identified key influential customs so that we successfully approached emerging market of PC, mobile and digital broadcast.

2. Account / Sr. Account Manager, San Francisco, 05/2002 – 06/2005

To build and maintain the primary business relationship with Dolby customers in Greater China region. Responsible for developing and implementing revenue goals and targets, business plan and licensing penetration strategy.

• Increased more than $2M a quarter via utilization report of China Customs and 3rd parties. Annually retrieved 85% in average of historic account receivables.

• Built sales, marketing, compliance and engineering teams in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, trained employees and keep close relationship, and therefore is friendly called “Master Wen” by colleagues.

• Closely worked with Chinese OEM manufacturers to differentiate product features and positions in order to optimize their business models, and therefore gradually help them comply with international regulation of intellectual property protection.

3. Licensing Engineer, San Francisco, 11/1999 - 04/2002

My responsibility was to develop an automatic test application that can improve efficiency of product sample evaluation. It was developed under Microsoft Visual Studio version 6.0, plus GPIB commands to communicate Audio Precision instrument.

One of my major projects was to develop the application that can trace the performance curve of the magnetic reader/writer of hard disk drive. It has been widely adopted by IBM, Toshiba, and Seagate etc.

Hewlett Packard, IT Specialists, Singapore, 1995 ~ 1998

My task was to maintain LAN/WAN and to provide IT support for a DeskJet printer factory in Singapore.

Chinese Academy of Sciences, Electronics Engineer, Chengdu China, 1988 ~ 1995

My responsibility was to develop the electronic circuit board and its associated UI for a computer numeric control system. This project awarded the first class prize of state scientific improvement in 1995.
