Phlebotomist to in-patients with ages ranging from newborn to geriatric, performing routine, timed and STAT phlebotomy and venipuncture work. Used as a source for difficult draws. Interacts closely with nurses and doctors while on the floor and in the lab. Works in receiving area of the lab processing all specimen, including STATS, routes them to their proper testing areas, and provides test result communication.
Run outpatient center for Illinois Masonic site, handling every step beginning with scripts from patient’s physician, ordering and performing said tests, and communicating results to the physician. Does lab work including venipuncture and capillary draws, PKU collection, as well as collection of any needed non-blood specimens, urine, stool, semen analysis, ordered by the physician. Work closely with doctors on a daily basis.
