Real Estate & Property Management Company 2/2008 – Present

Director of Information Services for multi-billion dollar privately held Real Estate and Property Management Company, operating 40,000 units of residential and commercial properties in 17 states, supporting 150 users in 5 office locations plus 450 remote users.

Upgraded the technology infrastructure in its entirety; staffing personnel, network architecture, applications and systems, and support services. Built new primary and secondary data centers and transitioned decommissioned sites and communications links without disruption to business continuity.

Evaluated, recommended and negotiated top tier industry standard packages to replace legacy enterprise system for Property Management and Accounting (JDE). Successfully converted and implemented new web-based Yardi Voyager and trained users across entire portfolio of 328 properties managing both internal and external resources within budget and schedule.

Directed reports of 13 I.T. personnel in remote office. This group of network administrators, systems programmers and developers, technical support help desk, system operators, and business analysts located in Ohio was replaced with a new department of 5 talented professionals that I hired in NJ. Realized significant savings in payroll budget as the new team successfully absorbed all responsibilities. In addition, we transferred the technology dependencies for other relocated back office operations including Help Desk, HR, Accounting, and Education departments.

Planned and implemented new technology requirements for security and regulatory compliance as required per the formation of a non-publicly traded REIT. Email archiving, data encryption, redundancy, multi-site data backups, and monitoring facilities were installed and audited.

Other notable accomplishments include: provisioning in-house VOIP technology services, significantly reducing costs for Telco expenses projected at a $700K savings per annum. Managed integration of third-party software services and interfaces, including scanned invoice approval system, property leads tracking, call center activity monitoring, applicant credit screening, electronic rent payment, website content management, and implementation of new Human Resource and Time & Attendance systems.

VP of Information Technology for USA segment of prestige French skin care and fragrance company with a global presence in 180 countries. Responsible for restructuring the I.T. department geared to embracing technologies to help drive the business through application development, strategic initiatives, and optimization of core business processes. Supported three business units’ sales forces, sales & marketing offices, consolidated distribution warehouse and operations.
