Hello, I just completed my BS in Kinesiology at the Univ. of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN. I also obtained a minor in Nutrition and a specialty area in Personal Training. I was pursuing a degree in Secondary Education but then decided that I wanted to work in a field that involved the instruction, teaching, and implementing of exercise, fitness, and health. That’s why I feel that I would be a great candidate for this position. I believe that I would be a tremendous part of your team and I would apply my level my expertise and knowledge of education and health to the best of my ability. I plan on going for another degree in Athletic Training next summer to better enhance my knowledge and understanding of sports medicine and fitness as a whole.
The past four years of my work history includes working as a Sports Performance Trainer at Sports Acceleration Center in Evansville, IN. During that six month span, I worked closely with head USI trainer, Dustin Murray, and helped trained youth athletes as well as collegiate athletes. Before that, I was also a trainer and league supervisor for youth league athletics for the Indian Creek Schools in Trafalgar, IN during the summers of 2010 and 2011. During this time, I worked closely with head supervisor Skip Reese who oversaw all operations, and head coach Anthony Levy who I ran strength and conditioning drills for. In October of 2009, I started my experience working in the fitness and health setting while working at the university recreation and fitness center at my institution. I worked under the supervision of Scott Wood and Sandi Davis who are the Program Coordinators of the USI Recreation & Fitness Center here in Evansville, IN, and I learned how to plan special events, act as a responsible fitness consultant to the clients, and also learn how to be a better team player.
Please consider me as a possible candidate for this position. I believe this would be a great opportunity for me and I want you to know that I will not let you down! I am available for contact by cell phone, 317-***-****, or via e-mail, *******@*********.***. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Drew Hogue
