Quality Control Engineer (from March 2011 till date).

I am working as a senior Engineer in Quality Control Department.

We have 4 units in Jejuri. Three are for steel grating manufacturing and one for steel fabricated structural beam. I am heading this department for our units.

Basic Functions: Attend Quality targets Meeting. Cross checking design document and drawings. Maintain cost control. Control Quality in My area & boost production output with client requirement. Maintaining Documents for my all activities. Control Human resources (Direct and Indirect labor). Ensure better utilization of all resources. Establishing new activity improving machine life.

Planning/Organizing

- Set priorities for Jobs based on:

• Job priorities from the Production Planning.

• Current Backlog situation.

• Materials for MTC certificate.

PERFORMANCE:

Good relation to low level and top level of management

Feedback to improve Production, Quality in economic scope

Co-ordinate to Third Party Inspection / Customer Inspection

Controlling/Utilization of resources

- Monitor periodic utilization reports of all welding, fit-up and Painting works.

- Co-ordinate with Maintenance to take corrective actions in case of machines with very high downtime. If necessary, Calibration Status Check.

- Maintaining a comprehensive ASME, AWS, ASTM and ISO procedures.

Facilitate Cost Reduction

- Instruct Production Engineers to ensure optimum usage of consumables & tools and to eliminate wastages of filler wires, welding electrodes, Acetylene, Oxygen, CO2 and Painting material by correct flow usage,

- Ensure maximum utilization of manpower, space and equipments.

Administration

- Approve disciplinary action (if any) based on Site Engineers comments to ensure workplace safety, good employee conduct etc.,

- Recommend rewards (citation/certificate/monetary benefits) to motivate good performers.

- Monitor and conduct periodic review of the performance of all the employees.

- Clarify the above mentioned departmental objectives to Production Engineers and ensure productivity of all resources.

Process improvements/Speeding profitability:

- Design, developing and recommend new Jigs and fixtures for fabrication.

- Design and developing and recommend /lifting /turning handling tackles and tools.

- Design, developing and recommend weld distortion control devices.

- Arrange periodic employees training programs in new welding procedures new fitting methods, New painting System drawing reading and training in automatic welding machines.

Authority

- Instruct Production Engineers and Site Engineers to initiate specific actions to meet Quality.

- Weekly once arrange meeting for my department regarding Quality Issues.

- Approve issuance of consumables and tools.

- Set Job priorities.

- Approve disciplinary actions.

Quality:

o Ensuring the adherence to quality standards requirements across the shop floor.

o Overseeing implementation of quality systems to streamline and standardize work flow.

Establishment:

The work was the fabrication and erection in PIPE LINES. We did all kinds of Pipe line fabrication (SS & MS). I was acting as Quality Control Engineer and Plant Head for my Company in the Plant. Starting from Raw material to Erection work it was my Scope.

3: VASAN ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES, TRICHY(from JUNE2009 to JUNE 2010) (Quality control Engineer)

I had worked with Vasan Engineering Industries.. This company is located at Mathur near trichy. We are one of the Sub contracts for the Bharat Heavy Electronics Ltd (BHEL).

The work which we did was Structural Fabrication.

1. Joined this company in JUNE 2009 as Quality Supervisor later I got promotion as Quality Control Engineer in three months.

2. Went to BHEL through company for one month for rectification work on the job Wind Box which was done by another company.

3. Then after that My Company got an award for doing Wind Box Quickly and Perfectly in BHEL because of me.
