Lead several projects as an engineer ranging in scope from a few thousand dollars with no other functional groups to multi-million dollar projects with 20+ functional groups. Lean change agent. Asked to model the head count and capacity for the plant because the person in charge had left and they asked me to continue for 2 more quarters. Coordinated/Lead lean kaizen events and am familiar with lean principles and their applications as well as six sigma principles and application. Set build metrics for each computer platform by doing statistical analysis to determine distribution type and determine the percentile to set the standard to which the associates are held accountable.
• Saved over $4,300,000 date in hard savings for the company by applying Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Lead a Kaizen team to increase the safety and efficiency of our computer case prep station. The headcount in the area was improved by 33% and the safety assessment score was improved by 50%. This project spanned two Kaizen events. The first event reduced head count in the area by removing work content and balancing work content for the associates. The second event was focused on safety and based off of a safety assessment score derived by the team.
• Lead project manager in developing and implanting a solution for our motherboard integration process for the Nashville site. This required coordination of eleven functional groups to transition the project to a third party vendor. The project saved 3.8 million dollar for Dell.
• Lead project manager and lead process engineer in transitioning the offsite motherboard integration from a third party vendor to being a Dell managed site. Lead a team of 12 functional groups to ensure a quick and smooth transition. The transition required buying all the equipment for the process, determining location of the site, optimizing space available for the process and meeting business controls and safety requirements, implementing changes without stop production in our peak season, and hiring all the necessary associates. The timeline was one month for the transition and the project came in on time and under budget by 23%
