Duties and Responsibilities as a Generalist Medical Technologist

. Execute and analyze tests in areas including Chemistry, Hematology,

Clinical Microscopy and Parasitology, Serology, and Bacteriology to aid

physicians in diagnosing and treating disease.

. Prepares the patient for a comfortable extraction of blood samples.

Conducts blood extraction in a swift and aseptic manner, through the use

of relative paraphernalia.

. Maintains adequate supply of reagents and chemicals.

. Maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of all instruments and

equipments used.

. Monthly inventory and census of reagents, supplies, and machines used

inside the laboratory.

. Documents / records and reports examination and techniques adopted by the

laboratory.

. Maintains a high degree of accuracy to achieve optimal judgment for

accurate reporting of patient's data to physicians.

. Recognizes and initiates the investigation into problems with clinical

laboratory procedure and equipment. Consult / refer with supervisor

personnel regarding unsolved problems or abnormal findings.

. Independently functions as a laboratory resource person by clarifying

questions on laboratory procedures, results, proper specimen collection,

or other information.
